Been out of the hobby for 7 years and the last 2 or 3 months have been flying and getting everything back in shape and working great. I don't want to give up my JR 10x transmitter ... The thing I dislike the most is the Metal telescoping antenna. Does anybody know if I can use a base loaded, one of those short pliable ones? Mine is screw on screw off, do they make a screw on base loaded for the 10X?

Rick...God,I love this hobby!

Two things to keep in mind with the base loaded antennas:

First, the range will be a little less than before, and you can't do a range test with a collapsed antenna like you can with the standard telescoping antenna.

Second, the RF radiation pattern is different. I am would expect the antenna web site will have some info. Probably won't matter except for the more distant flights.

Why don't you get a 2.4GHz module for your radio instead of a new antenna?

+1 on th e 2.4 gig module. Thats was what I did for my JR tx when I got back in. Its a great option. No more interference issues from 72 mhz.

While the previous post regarding lower range is correct, it will still be far greater than you can see. I used one on my Futaba 9z for years and it was great. With both helis and giant scale planes I never had an issue.
