I just got a new laptop with windows 7 op system installed. I was able to download the vbar software with no issues. The problem is when I connect the unit, all I get on the main vbar programming screen is the red box "not connected". I've spent 2 hours today trying to get the system to recognize the unit. I have installed the driver, but something is not linking up. I did everything that the vstabi site recommended and the driver is still not connecting. The units still work fine on my other laptop, so I know it's not an issue with the unit. Unfortunately Mikado does not have a customer service link to help with situations like this. I'm sure it's just a stupid point and click fix, but I'm out of answers here. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh God, I hope you don't have to go through the driver signing thing. Doubt it, that's 3 years ago.

Did you do everything here? Any warnings in Windows Device Manager?

Hold F8 on boot up and select then select to turn it off. I use MAC but that was a trick to get Windows 7 to work...

I'll check out the link when I get home today. This is the one really annoying thing about vbar, they make you jump through hoops with the computer stuff and downloads... Don't get me wrong, I love the system, just not the stupid crap that comes with it.

Please don't do the F8 thing just yet. Mikado got their certificate 3 years ago. MAC guys are always out of touch with the rest of the world. LOL
Do make sure your windows update is...updated.
If it still doesn't work, give us a screen shot of your device manager or simply describe what you see there.

Bob, thanks. I watched the vid and it only plays for 1 minute then kicks off. There's something glitching in the vid...

I spent a bunch of time on the phone with Ron today. We tried so many things to get this to work, with no luck. My computer does not show the driver downloaded, even though I tried to download it 2 times. It shows in the downloads section, but no attached data like file size etc.. So, I went back on the Mikado website and attempted to download it again. The dialog box opens with "download", I hit the button and it just minimizes and drops down to the bottom of the screen. It never pops back up to say that xyz percentage of the file has loaded, and no finish button pops up at the end. I'm really scratching my head on this one...

Stick with the other laptop. LOL
Video seems to work here...although I have to admit I can't bear to watch it for more than a minute.

What browser and version you using?
What kind of internet connection do you have?
What version vbar software do you have installed?

Above Looks Good
Barry,
I had the same problem with windows 8.,
The club member that got it set up for me said that my laptop was reverting back to the windows driver package and not down loading the proper drivers from the website...
If that makes any sense to you..
Me being computer illiterate does not help at times!!! But I am pretty sure that the fix from Rich is going to get you going...
Good Luck, Stan

Thanks for the input guys Laughingstill (despite being a MAC guy) got it up and running for me. My PC was directing the driver to the wrong location and it was never connecting the dots. Now all is well and vbar is now on my new laptop. Thanks again Ron

Yeah, that's what the video would have cleared up.
Let us know if you need any help with the downloading and video issues.
