On the maiden flight of my 700 FB, the gyro seemed to reset in air, lost the tail, didn't end well.

Doing setup on the bench, last night my switch and glow beeped for a spit second, this will happen if I loose radio link, or if power is lost temporary,
I'm ruling out the possibility of communication problems with the futaba system, reason, if I lost radio link my throttle servo would have gone to its failsafe position. I would have heard servo movement at the same time, this did not happen.

Should I add a buffer pack .?
Could the spartan ds760 handle 7v ?
Where can I find a manual for the hvx ? How can voltages be adjusted, ?
Having the older style on my other models and no problems, I'm confused

Good luck, I sent them an E mail asking about a replacement on off switch and never got any response.

Did some bench top troubleshooting, suspected bad dean's connector.
Stripped off extra few mm of wire casing, installed xt60 connector.
Got 10 good flights on today, not any electrical issues.

Still want a manual, so I can't tweek my voltages,

Glad to hear you got in some flying today. It was raining before I got up and it's after 9:00 PM and it's still raining.

Bummer, I had my Velocity 50n all ready to maiden.

ReactorHVX
Hi,

Mike, got your email and replied with Manual attached. I offer to help in any way I can to make sure everything is right. We've sold a lot of HVX's and have had very good feedback.

I'm glad you seem to have found an intermittent connection at your power connector- Actually I had this myself earlier this year on one of my helis, and found it was the battery deans not having a perfect fit when connected. Sounds like a similar find-

To the other gentleman on this thread, I will happily send you a new push to start switch. Please PM me your details or send an email. Apologies if I missed your original inquiry.

Thank you, happy flying.

Yes ! Thanks Scott. ! Got a few more flights today,

Another in flight failure, but got it on the ground in one piece. Lost some of the linkages, so my fly bar turned into no-bar.
Guess blue thread locker is not good enough, switching to red.

I am enjoying my HVX on E700.

One thing thought was a key feature was the switch. But as I'm not comfortable leaving the Rx pack plugged in for an extended time, I unplug it after each flight (I put some Sugru on the Deans to make it easier).

So now I'm thinking I don't really need the switch at all and may even remove it. I've mounted the HXV on the side and can get to the battery with the canopy on, which is key because if you work at it, you can set up an E700 to change the mains with the canopy on.

So the switch isn't making a fundamental difference for me, other than the additional blue LEDs, of course!

Anyway, love the product.

oops, bounced it!

whoamis,

The HVX PTS soft switch system will not drain your battery for a very very long time... I'm talking many months to a year or more. I leave my batteries in various helis connected for long periods of time without any issue. Might as well enjoy the switch functionality and rest assured your batteries will noticeably drain in any normal span of time between flights. Thanks for using HVX.

Dig it, Scott.

I'll bank on the "battery doesn't drain" factor. Thanks.

There's one other factor... I brought my newly-built heli to the LHS. "Look at my HVX! Check out the switch." Then I almost fired it up by the switch with the blade-grips on.

Couldn't blame it on the switch, of course, but would have really, really sucked to fry out brand-new top-tier servos... dang.

Everybody at the LHS dug the HVX, naturally.

Say, feature request: any chance the LEDs could signal low-voltage in the RX pack?

Jim
