Soooo; I have a 16G SDHC card in my radio. It has been formatted. I go to extract the files and install them on the card and it says there's not enough memory. There are no models on the card @ all. How does it not have enough memory? Any answers would be highly appreciated.

With the 8fg you could only use a card with a maximum size of 2Gigs. I don't know if this is still true with the 14.

Sorry, but the details don't indicate that the card was formatted in the radio. They indicate the card is in the radio and it was formatted. What I was trying to determine is whether the card was formatted in the PC or not. What I suspect is that the card came pre-formatted from the manufacturer or was formatted on the PC and that format is not compatible with the radio.

See pages 19-20 of the 14SG manual:
http://manuals.hobbico.com/fut/14sg-manual.pdf

From the manual:
Restrictions when using an SD card
The following restrictions apply when using an
SD card:
*The SD card must first be initialized using the T14SG
dedicated format. The SD card cannot be used as is
without formatting to the T14SG.

Win 7. I have updated FUT gyros and FUT radios many times before with CIU 2 n such. I'm sure it's something simple. I'll try another card later. It's not saying I can't do it. It's saying I need more memory on the card. I even reformatted it in the pc then installed it cleanly in the tx and it asked to be reformatted in the radio. It was successful and then tried it again. No good.

Try using a smaller card. I suspect the issue is with Win7 trying to write to the Futaba card format. Win7 realizes it's a 16GB card, but it's not seeing the format/available space it's expecting.

You cannot just insert the card into the reader and then look at what's on the card. You must use the software utility to work with the formatted card. You can download the software from here:

http://www.futaba-rc.com/software-updates.html

You want to download the File System Utility.

The instructions that come with the transmitter software download will also discuss the need for this.

You are doing things right you just didn't go far enough, I had the same problem as you have, I tried two different memory cards of different size....

When you execute the .exe file and select I think it was open all, a box opens up a window, dont change the destination of the default address and select OK....
Computer will open up another window and you will see all the files you are looking for, now insert the memory card into the computer, then go ahead and execute the new .exe file you see, a new box will open up select the drive your memory card is located in, my was in drive E:/ them follow the Futaba instructions....

I hope this helps...

Hey, I agree with him. Pay attention to the windows and drives that is pointing at.

Hmmmmmm. I will do just that. That's what I get for working in the wee small hours of the morning. I'll tackle it again this week. Funny thing is that there's nothing on the update that I need but I'd rather keep the firmware current.
