Hi guys I am having a weird issue, I have a brand new 6.6v 1800mah life pack, I am running it through a jr regulator to power my servos, I have a volt watch on board volt meter connected to the battery via a y connector ... Here is the problem, battery is fully charged but the volt watch says it's low like in the yellow,if I switch the toggle on the volt watch to 4.8v instead of 6 it reads a full charge I am confused I would love any help

Why don't cats get gray hair with age?.....

If you are connecting the VoltWatch before the regulator, that's the correct place to connect it. If you are connecting the VoltWatch after the regulator, then it will always read what the regulator is putting out... which doesn't change until it's too late. You want to know the battery voltage, not the voltage output of your regulator.

--- Also

Life batteries are notorious for being difficult to check capacity by looking at voltage. The curve is so shallow, it's difficult to detect that the voltage is dropping.

That VoltWatch is meant for 4-cell or 5-cell nicad or nimh packs. It's not meant for testing life or lipo packs.

The VoltMagic (a different product) can be configured to work with life batteries. It's a much more sophisticated product. Even so, you will need to experiment with your setup to discover exactly which light means that it's time for you to re-charge.

Additionally, you should check the VoltMagic at the end of the flight under a known load - like a SwitchGlo turned on. Then it is damn accurate +/- 100 mAh. Electric heli ?

LiFe packs require a bit different monitoring. Putting a load on them and checking won't tell you much. The only way to safely see how it's working is to make a few timed flights, recharge the pack and see how many mah's you put back in. Do this a few times and then you will have a good number of how much you can fly.
Also, when using LiFe packs with all HV servos, you will find the servos are much more effecient and you will use less mah's than you would normally use. With my 700 size models, I am only pulling 50-60 mah out of the LiFe pack after a 5 minute flight.

Really? Are they brushless servos? That seems much more efficient than I would have expected. I'm using 650mAh on a flight.
