I think I would try something other than the plastic tail blades, And maybe even larger, like 105.

It is likely a low gain issue on the BeastX. Did you max it out to the point of tail oscillation than back it off just a bit? If not, do that first. If that doesn't solve the authority problem look at getting CF tail blades. I doubt you will need to go to 105mm blades if you properly adjust the FBL gyro first. I've funneled a X50 using stock TT plastic blades with no problem.

What exactly is the heli doing that you are saying it is loosing tail control?? The tail will NOT hold itself in a funnel.. You will ALWAYS have to do fine tuning....

Describe what your issue is and what you are expecting it to do?? Do you do your Funnels clockwise or counter clockwise? How are you entering and exiting the maneuver??

Any of these details would shed some light on your situation...

I wonder if he setup the end points in the Beast X menu ("E" I think it is).

just got rid of this issue today. Discovered the beastx is happier with less mechanical gain and more electronic gain. Make sure you have some pre load angle in the tail setup and make sure yo have full travel set in the beastx.
try moving the tail servo ball closer to the servo center and turn up hh gain.
