Hi

This thread will soon become a 'mine is better than yours' thread....

So I will jump in early.

I have a Futaba 8FG and love it. Had it for about 3+ years.
With the 14SG out, I would consider this too.

Regards
Paul

I have moved from Spektrum/JR to Futaba 8FGS. If you are flying DJI products, I would not use anything else.

I cant see how you can beat this radio, for $200.00 and up to 16 channel

One thing I would consider is how the radio deals with failsafe. Is it preset or something else.

I have been building systems for pro clients based on the Futaba 8J. No issues, and at least 1KM range on a quad with a 400mW 1.2Ghz video system and no filter. The included RX is also a diversity unit with SBus. $280US.

I had to admit at first I was skeptical because of the internal antennas. Once I opened it up to adjust the throttle friction, I saw that there are in fact TWO antennas in the 8J, not just one as on most externally mounted TX setups. The deal with this radio, though, is that when you are pushing the range of the system, you need to hold up the radio and face the back of it towards your aircraft.

In any case, great radio for the money and is plug n play with DJI stuff (SBUS) and the failsafe is fool proof to set.

mcfast i seen that radio looks good but its hard to find.I am leaning toward 8j they are plentiful . I would like to have more channels.I dont know if 8 is enough.I think 279.00 plus you get a coupon for more off.At tower have not looked anywhere else yet.

I second Erich's Futaba 8J suggestion, fantastic radio for the money.

Don't get me wrong, I love Futaba radios but the 8J has only 8 channels, mite not be enough, you mite have to look that the
8FG Super, but the price goes up to, but 14-Channel,

P.S. sorry for the spelling or the grammar I am dyslexic!

On a bird such as these, if you need more than 8 channels, you probably should be configuring some things on a separate transmitter (camera payload functions) and use a second operator to help you stay safe.
