What is JR America? Lots of ads for this, and to add, they have some great looking equipment. But they are nowhere to be found in America.

JR America
JR leaving Horzion in Jan. 2014 I think that's the dates, I don't know if Horzion will still offer JR radios and Helicopters or not, there going out on there own place, I hope the service that we got from Horzion will not change on the JR side, that's the reason it's call JR America now. Bobby(JR don't flame me that was what I was told by 3 JR reps)

Ok, this is very confusing.
On that link, they say (emphasis is mine):

"JR items previously not distributed in the Americas will be distributed through the JR Propo JR Americas US office along with warranty and service for those items"

And then later they say that
"Horizon Hobby Inc., the exclusive distributor for JR products in the Americas, will continue in its role as JR’s exclusive distributor and will provide sales, service, and support of their current and future line of JR products"

So, which is it?

It has been long and drawn out divorce. I wish HH would just let JR go and let them flourish on their own. Unfortunately they won't. They are keeping control, despite the new name. They are slowly choking it off, even while saying they are now going to offer the JR products not previously offered in the Americas.

It is truly a sad state for them. It used to be the most prestigious thing to be on Team JR. It was the most difficult team to get on and when you were, you were part of something special. At IRCHA this year they (JR) were asking people to join. They had a huge banner basically saying "You fly? Join our team". Very different.

I am a die hard JR guy. I started with them and never, ever thought I would fly anything else. Well... here I am on my second Futaba transmitter. Unless they (JR) get back to their core design and engineering they had back when they had the 12X, I don't see myself ever going back.

Anything positive out of this? Yes. For now at least, the service is still through HH, which is the best in the industry. That is the only positive thing I can come up as to why the two should still be partnered.

There is your Thursday dose of honesty.

Seeing Hobby king adds selling Jr I asked them at a recent event they attended what's the deal?

Their claim is Jr PropoJapan is begging them to distribute them even USA. Weird, wonder how HH will deal with service of HK sold Jr,

Another interesting electric indoor event JR INDOOR is now the HH indoor event with Same JR event organizer Terry Nitch.

JR needs to sell parts at competitive prices and make them easy to get. One of the main reasons I sold the Vigor CS when I found out the cost of a JR mainshaft was $32! Parts availability is the biggest issue...there's quite some parts not easy to obtain and I'm not going thru RCjapan to get it.

JR in America
Hi Guys.

We were notified of this thread, and since some information and comments are not exactly accurate, we thought we should jump in and provide actual information about the current situation.

As the press release in April 2013 scripted by Horizon said, JR is in fact establishing their own US office in Champaign, JR Americas.

Here are some of the facts that can be shared:
Horizon has contracts to act as the primary distributor for JR products in the Americas into 2016.

Horizon currently has "first right of refusal" on all new JR products. If Horizon chooses to sell a new JR product, they have the exclusive on the sales of these items through 2013. If Horizon decides not to carry a specific new JR item, then the product can be offered and obtained in the near future through JR's JR Americas office.

Horizon is also contracted to continue warranty and repair support on all JR products that they have sold, or will sell in the future, through 2016.
These are all facts.

JR Americas initial role is primarily for marketing and promotion of all JR products to the Americas, as well as additional support to JR customers when they cannot receive proper service or support from our primary distributor Horizon Hobby.
As you can see, there are now JR advertisements in most all of the major forums and magazines, where there were virtually none prior to the formation of JRA. These ads were all created and funded by JR/JR Americas.

As JR Americas continued to be assembled, will begin to offer JR products and accessories not offered by Horizon. In the short term, any customers that are in need of specific JR products not currently available can contact JR Americas via e mail at help@jramericas.com and we will be glad to provide special order access to items as needed.

The commitment and investment by JR Japan to form JR Americas is substantial, and adds to enhance support for the JR brand. This change is a positive for the JR flyer in that you will have access to more JR products than ever before, and a second source for product and service questions and support.

As for conspiracy theories about Horizon "dumping" JR products, if you look closely Horizon is running considerable discount pricing on many of their own brands as well, so this is more a product of slowing sales in the RC market, and are not specific to the JR brand alone.

We hope that this helps clear up and questions or confusion regarding the recent changes and formation of JR Americas, and why these changes needed to occur.

We would like to thank all of our loyal JR customers for your support, and we look forward to enhanced JR product availability and support available through JR Americas in the coming months.

Thank you for your time.
