Based upon info posted on HF, this is a .91 displacement engine with a .50 crankcase? I suppose that makes sense since power output would be better in a 50 sized helicopter anyways, but what about the bearings? Doesn't a .50 use much smaller bearings than a .91? How about the warranty?
I have no info to add but remember vividly my Raptor 50 with a Hyper OS 50 needing bearings rather often in spite of great care and tuning. That engine beat that bearing to death regularly .

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Thanks Carey, I will be sure to watch this one as info becomes available then. If this case size is for '600' class machines OS will have a huge success on their hands i believe- and i will be one of the first in line for it. I love my Raptor 50, but once i switched to gas on my Raptor90 it has just been collecting dust.

I think the picture in the first post it`s only a prototype version previous to the release of the GT15 heli version (with walbro carburetor)

I came to that conclusion reading this on RCmania dated on 07/06/2012:

We are pleased to announce that we are going to release the new gasoline engine GT15HZ600 equipped with a space-saving O.S. original carburetor and pump system. GT15HZ600 is specially designed to fit in 600-class helicopters although there exists no helicopters in the market at the moment, in which you can fit the engine without modifications.
Only with GT15HZ CONVERSION KIT (#72520000), you can fit the engine in ALIGN T-REX 600N.

So a conversion kit is still required to use a GT15HZ600 in Trex600.

I've had really good luck running the original GT15 in a Fury 55 converted for it

BUT I did use the fan/shroud and drive system from a 700 size model

its been pretty much like any other gas engine, if you keep it cool it runs. if it overheats either because of mixture or improper cooling is when bad things happen. the internal changes made to the original GT15 have made it more tolerant but you can still kill it just like any other engine

This is very interesting.
I too have been running the original GT15 in a scale built Ergo 60.
It's been working fine for me and I like it for scale/sport flying.
At the end of the season I crashed my 600N. I bought new frame sides to rebuilt it. I may hold off on the rebuilt and see what happens with this conversion kit. I would like a smaller and lighter gasser.

OS before:

"Don't use the 15hz on a 600"

OS today:

"Now that we sell the kit, you can have your 600 gasser with the os gt15hz!"

they sayd that because the duct fan in a 600 size helicopter is too small and it isn´t able to properly cool down the engine tempperature. The OS conversion works with a T-rex 700 duct fan.

I have yet to figure out why someone would want to spend nearly $500 on this engine plus an additional $$$ for whatever conversion items required to save money on fuel...$600 buys a butt load of nitro you know...then just to end up with way less power and a more touchy tuning setup....so maybe you save on paper towels and nitro goop cleaner too...

you can buy a POS radikal G20 with an engine for the same amount and end up with pretty much the same flight performance, right?

this poor engine has had such a bad startup that its gonna take alot of shows and paid pilots to demo this thing into some sort of sustainable heli consumer market, for airplanes it seems to be doing ok...

its been like what...two or three years now on this engine?

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

It's not just the fuel economy. Nitro is a dirty mess.

In my case, wich each gallon costs 150 dollars, I have no choice, I'll convert to gasser.
