Hey Paul, I saw your 300 at Peters when I was in Florida and all I can say is wow! That thing is so impressive in size! It's definitely on my must build list. Mine is 1:4.5 scale and it looks small compared to that monster...

Blade Length!!
The 404/52 are 865mm..

Really a nice sized heli and big rotor disc gives some pretty light loading if build correctly..

Ironside - As Stan and Dennis have verified, individual blade length is 865mm but if measured when mounted to the 5 blade head you'll get a radius of 1,880mm....I think.

Coptercptn - Thanks so much! Can't wait to wrap up the EC-135 so I can get her going! Only have about 50'ish hours left on the exterior.

NitroMedic, that is a nice G-Jive you have there or should I say awesome!!!! Looks fun to fly and 1/4 scale too... I have the 600 size RCA G-Jive, love the paint job.

So, I just got all these converted to electric and flying great and now I read that BIGGER IS BETTER.???????

Hmmmm, now what would be a good one to start with...

NICE fleet you have there, bro! I'd go with the Dauphin. I've always wanted to do a HUGE CG Dauphin. Love the Hughes MD. I had one just like it and due to "pilot" error I nosed it into the ground about 3 yrs. ago. It was my 1st attempt at scale building and haven't looked back since.

Thanks for the compliment!

Thank you sir for the kind words. Its funny how all mine were nitro last year and now all electric except the Schweizer 300. My favorite is the Hughes 500D or E models. In fact I was thinking about having all Hughes 500 models, still need the Breitling and a few others, your 1/4 scale Hughes 500 looks awesome, look me up if you decide to sell it.

Yea, when I started getting into helis about 12 yrs. ago, I decided to never do a nitro. After years of running nitro cars, trucks & boats I could only imagine the headaches & unpredictability that came with a nitro helicopter.

Speaking of the 500, I have a Breitling waiting to go on my T-Rex 600. But it will have to wait until the EC-135 goes out for paint. Hopefully, will be done with the exterior by the end of the year.

Ha! I will definitely give you a holler IF (don't hold your breath...LOL) I decide to sell the 500. Can't wait to get her in the air, but just like the Breitling, it too will have to wait.

Yet Another!!!
Shayne, the detail on that new machine looks awesome... good grab!!!!

So, I just got all these converted to electric and flying great and now I read that BIGGER IS BETTER.???????

Hi DCORSAIR,

Sounds as if the bug might have bitten yet another!!!!
You have a great looking fleet.. sort of looked like mine about 2 years ago...once I flew one of the larger heli's (my 47G-3) I was amazed at how well it flew... now it is pretty much a minimum of 800mm blade sized heli's in my shop...
If you do choose to build a large one... probably the Hughes 500 E or D (I like the e with the pointed nose) is one of the easiest builds, and great starter heli to get into the larger ones..
Just pick something that you like and dive in and have fun!!!!

Good Luck, Stan

Hey guys!
Wassup??

Ha! No sir, this baby will never be a shelf queen as long as it's in my posession!

Unfortunately, we've had some recent life events that's caused me to momentarily shut down the EC project to go to Louisiana. I will be returning on Monday and picking up where I left off. I'm in the middle of programming the electronics and plan to get her in the air sometime next week for the 1st time! Will keep you posted. Sometime in the 1st quarter of next year I will be returning to Louisiana for an undetermined amount of time. I WILL, however, be bringing my helis with me so I can continue to progress with the EC project. I fully intend to make this beast a fully functioning machine and may even go to a few events. Thanks for checking on me! Will keep y'all posted.
