I think I'm figuring out the drift.

It hovers hands free inverted but drifts backwards fast when upright.
I lowered the aileron end points on he high side and that seemed to fix that.

Now I don't know how to adjust my 8FG to get more pitch.
Any tips?
The swash mix is totally different than my old Spektrum stuff and everything I've ever had is FBL...Hepp me...Hepp me..lol...

I dont think adjusting the endpoints will help with hovering. It will help on punch out drift. Id just adjust the swash to servo links and keep hovering it til it felt right. Thats what I used to do on my FB helis.

I have learned if you move the sticks the right way you wont crash.

Is it balanced correctly? Is the swash plate level throughout its travel?

Increase the Swash PIT AFR on swash screen one of five. See page 73 of the manual.

flybar is not to bad. I agree fbl setup correctly flies way better, but the ol flybar will get the job done. 139 that's a good cheap beater.

I been flying my blade 500 3d fly barred, when I have my first crash im gonna do the FBL swap and throw a beast on it

well not thaat you have that out of the way
1 radio at mid stick
2 center servo arms
3 adjust with sub trim
4 center swash at middle of travel on main
5 level at above
6 swash to flybar cage link adjust for level
7 adjust cage to blades for zero pitch
8 adjust swash afr to get your maximum pitch at full stick + or minus
9 use endpoint adjust to make sure swash is level at full pos or negative pitch!!

McKrackin, did you forget all from that other board!

You have to make sure the servos are exactly 90 degrees at mid stick, I think its pretty tricky on the blade 450 3D with the servos at weird angles etc. Then you need the C of G bang on.

It is of course possible that your elevator servo was already bad before it died and wasn't moving the same as the other 2, this would cause the elevator drift you saw.

The other thing to remember is it is a flybarred machine and a small low end one at that!

New (better) servos will certainly make it better, maybe some bomb proof hitec HS65MG's or the digital version if you are feeling flush? If you go for Align servos get the older 410M's, they are far better than Aligns new ones it would seem!

60% of the time, it works every time!

for $139 I think I would fly that thing around until it crashes, as is. Then turn the radio off and walk away. Im not saying nose it in on purpose, but I've smoked servos that cost more than that. See how long it can last.. I bet with some mild 3d/sport flying it may last a long time.

I'm convinced of this myself.
Thanks.

Crashed it in 6 or 7 flights...Not ready to walk away just yet but I might just replace the cheap servo with a stock one...Same with the wood blades. They were flying ok.

I like the woodies, I also like the cheap carbon fibers or fiberglass ones.. I seem to like to crash my small heli's a lot. But I learn everything on them before I move to the 550/700 machines.

are you using trims in flight mode

for instance if you use forward elevator trim to compensate for cg then inverted it would do what you describe

It's a little tail heavy but I don't know how to fix it.
The battery is a big as I can fit under the canopy and as far forward as it can go and get the canopy on.

Even the ESC is all the way forward.

Maybe some lead weights under the battery tray?
But that would make it heavier...Hmmm...
