I had a very good luck with an autorotation, my heli was in elevator hard flips then suddenly head speed is losesd, thats all because of Clutch liner slipping off

Heli is Trex 600N DFC, clutch is the stock blue one.

Any help?

I didn't measure it, but it was the stock blue liner clutch, from first flight day the clutch was engaging with mid throttle

The clutch liner now is totally destroyed, I change the liner with 700N clutch liner (( old black one)), we will see

The clutch liner gap was too big on my 600n DFC right out of the box, would not engage without full revs. Replaced it with a raptor clutch liner and now it's good to go......maybe even a little too tight but it should wear in eventually.

It is a shame on Align, until now they didn't upgrade their liner on 600N, I read many posts from RR members rgarding the first 600N liner problem, and every time there is someone pushed to write this (( stock liner works))

600N>600pro>600V2>600LMT>6003g>600N-DFC

Wooooooooooooooooow

I still fly Align and like it to much, But until know you should update parts to fly them.

the gap is too wide in stock form, we must install thin paper shim between liner and bell or else shoe breaks or liner burns out

Jacoub,
are you sure it was not one way bearing on the main shaft that was slipping? I cannot imagine how clutch can start slipping that badly during the flight.
I appreciate there are issues with default clutch liner and clutch gap, however clutch liner failures usually are not sudden ones. That failure develops over few flight and you should notice that clutch starts engaging on relatively high RPMs.

Regards,
Kaz

You are right,
I cannot imagine how clutch can start slipping that badly during the flight
After a 25 flights break in the engine and some mild 3d, the clutch is totally shaved, I replace it with black 700 clutch and it is day and night deference, the clutch now is locking in 1/4 of throttle and the heli doesn't drop any head speed.
