So Castle Creations says that their ESC will handle up to 8S and you're looking for even more answers than you have from your original thread ???

If it says up to 8S... Then you can run 8S.
My HV says up to 12S and I'd bet that 90% of people with a HV ESC runs 12S.
Run it and stop worrying.

All of those replies came after I posted this in the main discussion... I know what castle says, I just wanted some input from guys who actually have run their esc's on 8s. No more, no less. Word.

I don't think it is right to tell Jesus to chill.

Sorry... I didn't notice the reply time.
I'm just saying that if the manufacturer says it will work... It will work.
I understand not wanting to push things to their max... I wouldn't run it at 100A continuous the entire flight. But running at the voltage limit is not harmful in any way.

No worries brother :-) I really didn't think there would be but like I said before, I was just looking for some input from folks who've done it. Thanks for your input as well, god bless :-)

All components are designed to perform well at 8s setup. If it says 100amps, it will run 100a all day long at 100% throttle.

But, not sure how long it will at 100a at 60% throttle. Partial throttle is achieved by chopping the current into tiny pieces and this is very very hard on the ESC.

At or below 70% throttle, ESCs become inefficient. This is why you want to gear so you can achieve desired speed at 80% or higher.

Calculate a true 80%
Take a look at this headroom calculator so you know what 80% truly is.
