I'll be setting up and testing iKon flybarless system. First one is mounted on a KDS Innova 550 which had Ebar previously.
I had some issues with windows 8 not able to recognize the USB connected unit. So, I ended up setting it up using Win 7 netbook.
Initial flight had tail blowing out problem. After readjusting the servo center and mechanical setup the tail blowout issue is gone.
Tail gain should be set with a fast backward hurricane. But, for those who can't, you can also set this with a very high tail slide so the heli can get to similar speed where you will see tail wag/hunt as speed increase. When this happens, just back off the tail gain 1-2% and try again.
Now, I have to fine tune the tail feel and rotation speed.
As for the cyclic, there is a big elevator wobble during hard stops. I will do some more flight and adjust the cyclic D gain to lock in the boom from bouncing.
My current choice of FBL is BeastX. But, as for the initial setup, it is easier to setup with few push buttons on screen compared to going through the LEDs.
After the initial mild setup to get the feel, it was switched to aggressive and noticed the elevator bounce.
Will report back with other findings.
