Go to http://www.knifeedge.com/ and try out the G6.5 demo.
You will see what it can do. You can use your G3 "transmitter".
I use G6.5 and absolutely love it. Most of my birds are Raptors and it nails them dead on.

I'm not knocking G3. I used G3.5 for a while and it will get the job done. After trying out 6.5, I liked it better.

The rare time I fly sim it's on G3.5. If you haven't updated your G3 to 3.5 with all the updates do that. It's a no cost update and does help.

oppss typo it is a 3.5 and seems a bit sensitive than when actually flying at the field, is that normal for this sim?

I think G3 and 3.5 were great for their time and you can still use them to get some practical flying and learning done! With that being said, when you can pick up one of the later versions of Realflight, the physics is so much better and you get a very realistic flying experience.

Using the knife-edge models and tweeking the parameters a-bit will get you a much-better feeling and Flying model in RF 3.5

OR,
You can update the 3.5 to 6.5-status with the update disc (think it's around ~ $65.00) but, you still have-to use your PC's mouse (or other) to make selections and there is no-rewind (ttbomk)

I have 3.5, anyone try the Trex 600n v9? It's probably the most real flying model of them all. It free to download from knife edge. If it weren't for that model, I'd probably have 6.5 by now.

I use Real Flight 6.5 every day. Upgrading from 3.5 will be more than the cost of the software. 6.5 uses a LOT more horsepower and will likely require a system upgrade, power supply and a graphics card.

Having said that, it is great. I love it. I have Phoenix and fly that less often just because the Real Flight box is handi and always hooked up to the computer.

I flew the snot outta' that model before the fbl version of it and the vbar 700N became available, still I did quite-a-bit of tweeking to get them to perform / respond like I wanted them to.

Heli_Splatter makes a great-point here, if your system isn't up-to the requirements needed to run a Sym that can be as demanding you won't be happy with the results (just one-of the reasons I still use RF 3.5 & Knife-edge )

Thanks HilliHeli,

I haven't looked at the swap files over at RealFlight in a long time. I'm liking the FBL 600n. I think its going to be my new practice bird.
