I sold my G700 because I was never happy with tail performance, so what should I try next? Any ideas?

The Avant Mostro is supposedly a couple weeks from releasing for sale...Something to consider

The Whiplash is also a nice rig.

I would stick to proven machines that are available now. The Logo 700 and Synergy would be my choices as they are just that, proven.

The Avant Mostro should be called the Avant "bet you don't know where we stole this idea from..cough cough.. Goblin.. cough cough.." Mostro. But who could blame them, it is a nice design, I think SAB pulled it off better.

I'm of course partial to the Whiplash since I have 2 of them (an electric and a nitro), but the Whip is definitely worth taking a look at.

The electric in particular is designed to have a high CG without having to kludge the head with a DFC design. It has a traditional swash follower arrangement on it with a very high quality swashplate with a German heim ball in it. And of course, it has the main OWB on the motor pinion rather than on the main gear, which makes the drive train basically indestructible.
So it really does fly like it's on rails in the air.

The only drawback is the somewhat klanky arrangement for the batts, which takes some getting used to for getting the batts in and out. This looks like it's been fixed somewhat in the upcoming but not yet available 700EX. Once the batts are in it's as good as you can get as far as CG, tho.

And for nitro, it's almost unbeatable. The nitro version is probably the best or one of the best on the market...

You do know that's ridiculous don't you?lol...

The Goblin was far from the first to have direct to swash servos.

As for the drive train...It's simple evolution.
Do you think every heli that ever had a pinion gear and a main gear is a stolen design? Of course not. It was just the most effective set up for the times.

When you come across a design that really works...even if it's not copied outright, the design will be independently discovered elsewhere.

Not that that's what happened here.lol...
They do admit they used existing tech and improved upon it.

The Avant will probably do well if it has a good price point and the overall QC is better than the E-Avant. When I had my E-Avant(s) they flew well...until the headaches started
I agree that it look a LOT like the Goblin, I guess we will see if this is a sign of things to come....
