I picked this kit up from Horizons garage sale last week.

So as I read through the manual, this is basically a vibe 90 with different frames, to make it a electric. Meaning its not a stand alone kit. Am I correct in assuming this?

Also, I have a rear body for a Sylphide that I'm not using. The manual asks if I'm using a full body kit, to mount certain things differently. Am I to assume that the rear JR body will fit this kit as well?

Thanks

If you are talking about the JRP998043 ($699) or JRP998042 ($599) - NO these are full blown kits at a rock bottom price.

If you are talking about JRP998042 - then yes this is the Vibe90SG nitro to electric conversion, effectively new frames and odd parts to make a new electric from an existing SG nitro.

I guess what I'm asking is. Other than the main frames and misc., parts, this kit is a SG Vibe 90. Correct?

It's just a bit deceiving as it has a huge vibe E12 sticker on the main box covering up the SG Vibe 90 picture. Also it has the main vibe 90 manual, with a secondary manual to build the frames.

Will the rear JR body fit this kit?

A part number please would make it easy ... because even the full kit comes with the Nitro manual and the conversion manual.

If you are talking about the Sylphide rear body (JR-82342) JR indicates it is only compatible with the Sylphide ... but I suspect this is only due to the way it attaches to the heli rear frames and width of the frame of the Sylphide compared to the Vide (Sylphide is wider than the Vibe).

So it is probably possible to mount it with some modifications, but it might not be pretty !

Conversion kit - I don't know how much you paid for it but with the ridiculous low prices of the full kits ($599) ! I hope you did well.

Something is lost on translation here. This is a full kit.

My question is, other than the frames, is the remainder of the kit exact replica of the SG Vibe 90 nitro kit?
And yes, it was on sale for 599.00, and still is

Yes - sorry I just saw that I made a copy/paste error with the part number of the conversion kit - which is JRP996422 !

So you do have a full kit - and yes to my knowledge besides the frames, motor mount and a couple of odd parts it is essentially a Vibe90SG. (head, swashplate, boom, torque tube and tail parts are the same).

Very good then.

As far as the canopy, it seems very aerodynamic, thus making me think about setting up the kit as a f3c/big aero style flying.

Surely - I would maybe recommend to not go crazy with a 5kw+ motor as this E12 (we will call it V1) uses the same main gear as the nitro version.

Later E12 serie (call it V2) has a new main gear (spiral) and the even newer ITO serie (call it V3) has a thicker spiral main gear then the V2.

Will the new v2 spiral gear mate with the v1 vibe?

I'm pretty sure not because the V2 also has a different frame.

http://www.jrpropo.co.jp/english/pr...&db_flg=eng_db1

[Frame structure]
The unique method of battery mounting means it is no longer necessary to remove the canopy when installing or removing the battery packs. The carbon frame structure has been redesigned to obtain maximum strength and durability without additional weight. The previously optional carbon sub frame is now standard equipment. Additionally, the horizontal and vertical fins are now produced from carbon fibers as well.

[Power train]
The 93 tooth machined special spiral main gear is unique to the VIBE SG E12 FBL. There are two pinion gears provided to allow different gear ratios to suit your selected motor. The one way clutch system is taken from the Sylphide E12, and has proven to be extremely durable. There was no weight gain even with the additional ball bearing installed for smoother rotation.
