I just converted my second Trex 600N to belt drive and I was wondering if I could just remove the gears and bearings and use the metail torque tube tail unit as a belt drive unit. Looking at them they do look the same atleast on the outside.

Anyone?

Thanks!

Not really. I have both parts in front of me. The hole for the belt is too small and would rub. The side plates and tail shaft spacing are completely different. If you have a lathe or know someone who does you could flip the side plate opposite the tail rotor, take some off of the bearing holder, make a spacer for the other side, and bore out the big hole for the belt. Still the outside of the big part is 1 mm smaller in diameter and can't be bored out enough for the belt anyway.
