Amy Pirozek. “I know today he went out flying by himself
Notice a slight trend?
Guys, I'm afraid we are heading towards our hobby being regulated by local, state or even the Federal government. It's a coming.
These types of miss-haps are absolutely out of the ordinary and should not cause pandemonium among the non heli world. It is very rare but injuries and death do happen mostly due to operator error and proximity, or lack of, to their machine in flight.

If you play with large high powered helis then you are accepting the risk of death as proven now twice. Because his head was decapitated it would stand to reason he was hit on the advancing blade with approximately, or in excess of, 256 joules of energy of one thin 220gram lead laden cf blade. cf becomes like a micro saw when sanded at the blade edge, like paper when you get a cut from it.

Hard lesson to learn much too late.

Personally, I've envisioned something less harmful in terms of a blade.

Regards to his family. Sobering day.

Fortunately he did not have a bunch of people standing around him like I have seen quite often.

R.I.P. and condolences to family and friends.

Wow, I had half my co-workers tell me to be careful with my RC Helis today.

I am shocked that this happened and I send my condolences to the family and friends.

The news was very vague but they mention that the heli went out of control and flew back into him. What was he flying? Did he get hit with the motor/engine at full power. What is the current position of his kill switch? Were any logs recorded from his avionics. Form what I hear, he was a good pilot so he either had a very bad day or something failed. I would like to know what happened. Unless the investigators are savy on RC heli tech we will never know other than there was a tragic accident.

This guy was good. He was so good, I'm surprised he wasn't sponsored. Something must have let go, sad, sad.

Roman was a tremendously good pilot, and he was sponsored.

He flew for Align RC, Thunder Power RC, and Cool Power fuels.

I'm proud to have called him a friend. I was just texting him monday about a new motor. I still can't believe this happened.

I still feel shocked and bad about the news though I do not know Roman personally. The thing that bothers me is I have the exact same 700E DFC he flew. I think I will stop flying this weekend and do something else.

This is sad sad news that no one likes to hear, especially when it involves our hobby that we love and enjoy. I never knew the guy and I can only imagine what the family are going through right now. May God give them strength.

If it doesnt move and its meant too... use WD 40. If it moves and its not meant too...use duct tape!

New york Post
I am certain this is nor the time or the place, and I assure you I mean no harm but anybody who reads the new york post Please no longer do so for there distasteful and disrespectful cover page in regards to this tragedy and I hope the family demands an apology in writing from this tabloid like news paper. I was just disgusted by it.
I just saw the article in the New York Post and I'm disgusted by it as well. I cannot believe they printed what they did.
