wanting to know if anyones used these in nitro helis,CC 10A SWITCHING REGULATOR. it claims to drop voltage down by default to 6V from a 3S lipo

Max. Amps: 10amps peak: <12volts input = 7amps <24volts input = 5amps
Max. Volts: 5v - 25v (2-6cell lipo)
Adjustable Output Voltage: 4.8v - 9.0v

Why are you dead set on a 3S RX pack?

To use 3S you have to use a BEC which is designed for electric helis.

There are regular voltage regulators that are much better than a BEC and designed specifically for use with larger helis.

I used that CC BEC 10 on a Trex 500 and it was a good one.
I used an 850mAh 3S pack with it.

But like I said,a voltage regulator and a 2S is better.
What's even better than that is a 2S LiFe pack and no regulator at all.

I literally never use the word literally right.

that's what I keep hearing and am not dead set on 3S, just trying sort things out and find the right choice w/o breaking the bank, the 2S LIFE pack is looking better all the time but looks like they take a LiFe charger, is this true?

was your trex lectric or nitro?

What kind of charger do you have?

Most lipo chargers have a LiFe setting.

My Trex 500 was electric.

The Align 2 N 1 isn't bad. My 6 year old Trex 600 Nitro Pros have been flying since 2008 with them with absolutely no problems whatsoever. My 700N has been going strong for at least four years, now.

That, and something on the order of a 2S 1900 - 2200 mah LiPo, just go fly.

The small CC BEC isn't really sufficient, if you go that route, consider the CC BEC Pro. To keep the wires from failing, simply give them a small bit of slack, then tie them to the frame so they don't vibrate and fatigue. Nail down the small ferrite toroid that is installed on the output wires so it stays in place.
