I know the default warning voltage for the DX18 is set at 6.4 volts.. but I usually charge the radio around 7.8 volts. Looking at lipo life expectancy and being battery friendly, I would think going below 7.4 volts would be just like over discharging any other lipo flight pack.

What have you all been doing or have you even thought about it?

I use the same rule of thumb you do. When the radio says it's around 7.7 or 7.8 I stick it on the charger. It takes a long time to get there anyway so not waiting until it drops lower is fine with me. I figure storage/nominal is around 3.8 per cell or 7.6 for the pack so right above that is comfortable for me to charge again.
