I noticed that the E8 is now 299.00 at Horizon, is there something new on the way perhaps? I had a difficult time getting parts when I had mine.

They have the "new" Vibe Nex E8 Leggero in Japan that is supposed to be basically the same as the previous E8 but 200 bucks cheaper... Does anybody know the actual differences in the models? Maybe that is just a way to get rid of the "older" models before getting the newer and cheaper ones...

the leggero version is cheaper because it uses a carbon/fibreglass frame in stead of full carbon. Also less machining is done on the frames to cut cost. For the rest they are identical.
Also the leggero isnt really new, its has been out for over a year or longer?

I guess horizon is selling as much stock as possible since they wont be the distributor for 2014.

JR E8
A new lower price and great parts support and availability sure would get my attention again. When none of the local shops have the goods on the shelf you tend to loose interest after a while, and I have been a JR fan for a long time.

That's not exactly what the press release says. I assume Len is involved as he was at the JR booth at both Toledo and at IRCHA this year.

So if I understand correctly the complete line of JR will be available in the US along with total support, man it doesn't get any better than that.

Apparently I was misinformed, this was told to me by the LHS.
Although the press release is about them cooperating in 2013 and says nothing about 2014?

I received a reply from Len Sabato with JR Americas, he stated that they understood the frustration from buyers and changes should take place in the coming months.

It seems this year that Horizon is changing direction and stepping up their game to compete against lower cost products. They have developed and expanded their Blade and Spektrum lines. It may be time now for a parting of the ways.

Blades; what goes around, comes around!

I am curious if the JR NEX E8 is going to be phased out for something else or if this is just Horizon getting rid of the JR Heli line... either way this is a steal!

Well, it would be nice to see an E8 based on the E6 design but I dont see anything to say they are working on a redesign of the E8.
I seriously think it is because the relation with HH is ending.

I really like the design of the E6-550, imho one of the better 500size helis available. Lightweight and durable.
