Man I can tell ya if your not use to seen thing fly at 64 FPS, then
this is your moment,
the thing is fast because of long blade 360mm this is the 1st time I seen the 450 tail lock so solid. Tail gear system is the same as
the mini proto/rave 450.

I use to get the same performance from the PRO but that with
the 6s 1300mah, 2010 KV scorpion motor.

The battery is a 6s the same size as the 3s battery, the frame is skinny and a little longer than the pro, seem as if they only modified the servo section to accommodate the motor, and make
the nose longer so the battery can have more holding room to slide in and out.

Align is the only one that got the battery for this mod so far.

Is that's good thing? Why would a model designer make a battery compartment that requires a battery with dimension that are not mainstream already? I guess it is Align though, that probably will be a standard size soon enough but it's nice to be able to share batteries amongst a few different models.

wouldn't be just as easy to fly a 500 if you are almost there now with 360 blades?

Aligh just changes the blueprints and calls it a new design .Its still a 450 and its still Align . Yes it flys better than the past 450 but if they took the time to get it rite the first time you wouldn't have to buy 10 models before . But hey Align is selling helis .

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

Don't like the idea of a designer battery. I would be stuck with only one source, until others started making them. And even then, would not be able to mix it up with other helis.

It still sports the crappy two bearing main support and the same troubled tail that align has always shoved down our throats. I am not in! Shoot, I was running 6s stretched aligns (we should change their name to personal vibrators!) almost 4 years ago before 6s even arrived. I even had to custom wind my Scorp to make it work. My latest versions were stretched out with 420mm blades and running on 12s before I finally quit fighting the horrid drive trains, terrible bearing quality, and scrapped the brand. The Warp is still by far the better heli. I also stretched that out to run 420s and did early design work on one of their first prototypes. Warp now runs with some of my parts and the Scorp 2520 motor I pioneered is the #1 upgrade. Mine flies totally vibe free for just under 15 minutes. The mod threads on it are over at RCG and HF.

Typical align. Years after everyone is already flying 6s stretched 450s they try to jump aboard with another poorly designed low end heli. The custom battery thing will kill them as everyone out there is already running 6s 1300s or larger already. At least they finally admitted the 3s thing sucked.

How do you get 420mm blades in the grips? Do you mill the blades down?

No, I run MsComposite's with 6mm blade roots on two of them. On the Trex style frames I fabbed up my own DFC head when I copied the Compass 6HV design. I used the 7.23mm grips off the Rave 450 and grafted it into a Kde pro head. This uses Helihaven 63mm x4mm feathering shafts that use ProTek 10x3mm tempered bolts to anchor the grips into place. Green damps and I grafted my own DFC arms into the grip arms. Fantastic head.

On the Warp the blades fit like a glove just using the right spacers. But another new head design will accept full 10mm blade roots, so I am stretching even larger now. The larger benefit other than having a featherweight 500, Is that they stay up in the air twice as long.

But also on the trex style frames, I now make my own btw. I started using third lower main shaft supports to stabilize the main shaft itself. And use delrin cnc milled gears to eliminate the wobbly out of concentric align gears that cause so much trouble. Then load it with abec 7 ceramics throughout. I also started using 15mm booms, which were much more stable than the earlier 12mm versions. On the 12s versions I ran two 6s 1300 batts which fit under the CarbonFibre 450 canopy. On the 6s version I run 6s 2650 batts. I have seen flight times running the blades at 3200 with the 6s version just a tick under 19 minutes. And on the 12s version I have hit over 25 min using old 300+ cycled batts. But on that heli the custom 2122-1020kv Scorp motor was producing so much torque I couldn't keep dual stacked delrin mains from stripping. It was pulling less than 2a in a hover and never exceeded 10 before loosing the main gear repeatedly doing flips and rolls. Helihaven has the second prototype 12s motor and reports full hour long flights with his custom 450 heli, and is now setting it up to challenge the flight time record this next year. He is aiming at 2 1/2 hours using a non strippie 3d capable 450 based heli.

Looks heavy...how much does it weigh?

The sliding tray seems excessive for this model considering only one battery is required.

I though the previous revision was pretty solid...can't wait till everyone starts blowing them out
