Setting up a new heli with a Futaba 14SG and a FS Vbar (older blue version). I have my R7008SB Sbus port connected to the Vbar in the Aux port.

My receiver was already bound to the radio during ESC setup and is showing the green light. On the receiver tab of the Vstabi software, receiver type is set to Futaba SBus and the software shows 'connected,' but I am getting no response from the Radio (no movement on screen in the channel monitors.)

What am I missing here?

Did you link (or bind) the R7008SB in FASSTest 12 or 14 Channel-mode (?)

If you have done this correctly you should see the RX.' serial number displayed in the 14SG's screen (for RX).

Sounds like you don't have the RX. link'd in the correct-mode, see the 14SG's manual (RX. linking) it shows you how-to do it correctly.

Hopefully this is all that is needed

Thanks. Interesting, there was no SN on my 14SG screen, but I know it was linked successfully earlier, because I was moving servos with the receiver.

I did go ahead and relink (FASSTest-14CH Single G)and now have the primary receiver number showing on the 14SG screen, but unfortunately, I'm still not getting a response in the Vstabi software

Hi Dave,

Not sure about the V-bar, but you may have to set the receiver in SBUS mode for that VBar model, not SBUS-2.

P.S. On another note, If you are setting up a 3D model and you don’t need telemetry sensors other than rx pack and motor pack, then I recommend you set the radio in FASSTest 12 CH mode (7ms -11ms) compared to FASSTest 14CH mode I think it was something like 14ms-20ms.

Hope that helps!

I had the same problem. I had not set the ch mode in the Rx. Go to page 25 of the radio manual, it explains it. Kinda.

Thanks. I did change the CH mode to B for use with Sbus, but still didn't get a signal. I finally noticed that the picture on the VStabi window showed the Futaba receiver running out of the Sbus2 port instead of Sbus1/8. I switched the patch cable over to SBus2 and now I have signal.

Shouldn't this have worked in the SBus-7/8 port also though?

Mine is plugged into the 8S port. However I'm running a CGY 750, if that matters.

You might want to check on the vstabi website regarding a harware problem that exists with the 7003 that might also be with the 7008.

http://www.vstabi.info/en/forum

The way the vstabi website works I think you need to select questions v5 section and then look for the post V-bar with R7003SB.

This is correct, you must use S-Bus2-port if you have configured the R7008SB RX. in 14CH. FASSTest mode.

However,
If you are only going to use (2) Telemetry-sensors you can lower the latency somewhat by switching to the 12CH. FASSTest mode as DougV has suggested
