I finally joined the ranks of scale!

I wanted to share my new baby. It's an Augusta 109 with Raptor 90 mechanics. I purchased it from another RR member here in Houston (HeliLoverHtx11). It is my first scale and I love it. Flew it for the first time last weekend. After my first nervous flight, the club president asked me where the little brown droppings were,I told him I was so nervous they were DIAMONDS!! Talk about pucker factor.

Now I have to build my own, I'm looking at the Hind.

Welcome to the addiction of scale Pretty soon you'll be "mainlining" kits directly into the vein...

I know I cant wait!! This is the Hind I'm looking at. It will be for my Raptor 50 mechanics. Looks sweet! I am also about to start playing with my first flybarless setup. So once I get it down, I would like to use a scale head on the model.

ANOTHER IS BITTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The "gang" is telling you the complete truth!!!! Once you have one, you will be needing another... then while your working on your current project, about half way through
(sometimes sooner:crazy you will begin looking for your next one!!!!
Have fun and take your time with your builds because the choices are unlimited!!!
Good Luck with the Hind... is that a TT kit?? If so, I am sure they will have the raised tail worked out well...
When you go fbl, do it in the pod and boomer first!!! Work you way up.. One problem with a fuselage on wheels is ground resonance..not to scare you off of it.. but you want to make sure your mechanics are working properly before that first spool up...so fly them for awhile...and make your first spool ups on grass..
Have fun....and there is plenty of help on here if you need it...Stan

Thank you all!! Yes I am bitten HARD! I do want to "mainline" scale heli's now. Why did I wait so long??? Plain stupid. 3D flying looks cool, I cant do it, so now I'll fly scale!!

Holy Crap! You aint whistling Dixie! Wish I would have known about that before. The first few spool ups scared the crap out me!

I want to convert all my pod and booms now!

Yes that is a TT kit.

Does anyone make a scale body for a Nano CPX??

Grim,

Got some bad news for you

There are at least 2 fuselages out there intended for the MCX2 which will fit your Nano Cpx (Both Heli's are virtually the same size)

You have a choice between the Schweizer Hughes S300 or an MD500E.

Both are very nice from what I have seen online.

I know the feeling all to well Grim. Once I got my first scale Heli all the rest have started to turn that way too.

Wouldn't have it any other way now.

Watch out George. It is awesome and I have seen it fly in person. ok SO I see I have some local competetion. I have my Skyhunter UH-1 I've been gathering all the pieces for. (Thanks Scott Tran for most of the TREX 600 pieces) I have them all now except for BEC and front drive gears. Watch out George...... Timboni will be giving you a run for the money. I will start a thread soon.

The only things that break are the things I don't have spares of.

Yeah 3D does rock and lots of credit to the guys who do it, mad skills but when everyone is doing it and everyone is good, it gets a little tiresome to watch sometimes. isnt scale cool though? flying a heli that looks like a real heli and in the same way and fashion as the fullsize machine is flown is magical to watch
have a peek in my gallery, the pics will show years of the fun ive had flying scale helis.
welcome to the world of scale and have a blast!
