Version 2 of the SFR (Speed Flying Rigid or Schnell Fliegen Rigid) Speed Fuselage for the TDR. Narrower and shorter nose than SFR1.

Rick

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

Thanks, it's my own design, scratchbuilt like SFR1.

Rick

No, this is different. Unfortunately, we were unable to make it to IRCHA this year to defend our title from 2012.

Let me know if you can make a limited run/production...

I do know some other fellow pilots would also order one..

I asked that question in 2,012 and the answer is too much time and it will be too much money.
Remember he is in California (Silicon Valley). $500 an hr doesn't buy much in that area.

Perhaps it is possible to license the mold for that fuselage to Canomod or maybe even Jan Henseleit himself. The world needs reproductions. Its not fair that there should only be one copy in existence.

Little to do with being in Cali, all to do with the amount of R&D, the technology behind it, sweat amd tears.

All high speed models used in racing and speed cost an arm and a leg, and the producers make relatively no profit on them.

I've been involved in racing events for meny years and know this 1st hand.

When you ask to buy one of these items is because you want it and have to have it. Affordability is not in the equation, the price is the price.

Well done Rick! looks beautiful as the original.

Santiago

EDIT:

These are not to be mass produced either as one has to keep a standard of quality (no room for Canomod) and you could only sell 10 to 20 if that many in one year.

Amen to that! I looked into making some of these last year for the Synergy (very light weight mechanics). At an absolute bare minimum it would be north of $5,000 per fuselage and that is with me pretty much donating my time.

A one off is cool. I will probably do it myself, but you have to be pretty committed to do a small production run of these.

EDIT: "making some of these = speed fuselage of my own design, not of this fuselage"

Rick needs to find a way to get copies of his fuselage into the hands of other pilots. I am sure there are people with the means to buy them at whatever cost. The world needs copies of this beautiful fuselage to enjoy.

Can you imagine if there was only the original of the Mona Lisa in France, with no reproductions? That would be a shame. The world needs copies of major works of art for everyone to enjoy.

For those interested in a TDR fuse :

http://shop.xtremeracing.de/

SFR1 & 2 are awesome. Too bad you missed out on defending the 2012 title. Bet there was ALOT of work involved..

Sorry for posting a link to another guy's shop in R.J's thread, hope I didn't step on anyone's toes.
