I'm geting a goblin 700 competition and was thinking of going with either the scorpion 4525-520 Ultimate or 4530-540 LE. Which do u guys recommend?

Both will work great. 4525 may give you a bit more run time.

I was looking at the 4530-500 but does the 540 match the included pinion better? Go for the most power. You can always slow it down and change settings for a longer easy flight but this is a Competition version and should have the Ultimate setup in my opinion.

Is there a manual available yet or even a new recommended parts list for the Competition?

Not sure what pulley is in the new kit but you may want to use a 20t for the 540kv motor. It really depends on the head speed that you plan on running.

20t pulley will be fine for that headspeed with a 540kv motor.

My red goblin has the 4530 2100-2200 scary power but flight time is only 4 min at 22 percent on landing. Yellow has 4525 1900-2100. 1900 flies like all the other 700s gets 5 min and lands with 35-40 percent, 2100 still rips. I like the 4525 better. The tail speed up gear is great too for the low head speed, don't know if the compition has that.

I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.

I hope you have a large esc for the HK4530. A 160A esc is boarderline. If you have 120A you are looking at trouble. The hk4530-540 cut out/overamped on hard pull, Overheated with tic tocs with my Jive 120A.

I run a 4530-540 in my Goblin 700 with the CC Edge 160HV.. it doesnt seem to get that hot, even in 100F + temps here.

Quantum 4530-500 and Robbe/Hawk 120HV here for a year with no issues @ 2200HS and 14 degrees of pitch....never got over 118 degrees and stupid power
Using that combo in my Logo 700 XXTreme now.

I am running the CC Edge 160 with heat sink and the Kde700XF series motor on one Gob, The esc stays cool. And on the other I am running the Yge160 with sink and the Scorp NextD 4525 ultimate. It also stays cool. But I smoked two 120hv esc's earlier this summer on that Scorp motor. Both with sinks. Go with the 160 size esc for sure.

I don't think you will be disappointed with any of those choices. There are so many great motors out there.. I am going through the motor choice debacle for my Diabolo build.. I think I will go with the newly released pyro 800 40.. but still looking. Good luck!

Actually leaning toward Scorpion 4530-450 on 14S. Battery choices are a little thinner but should increase soon.
Also already bought a YEP120 and will probably be at 2200 plus and 15 degrees. Going to 14S will lower the amp draw but increase volts and watts. YEP is 120A and 140A burst and the 450 is 110 continuous down from 115 on the 540 but is maxing the voltage or the amps more of an issue.
