curious if a OS 50 "blue head" will fit in a rap 30 frame,I kind of doubt it but just making sure, someone here said it would if I just changed mount but even then wouldn't that spread the frame?? the head is also too big to fit in the existing frame,I measured the existing OS 32 motor against the OS 50 and is way bigger, I dont get it:confused

Only if you use a 50 motor mount and I think a 50 fan, the 30 fan should be taller because of the 30 engine shorter case.

Dude, look in the manual. Do you see a separate part number for 50 size frames?

The Raptor 30/50 are the same air frame. To make a 30 to a 50, you'll need a 50 motor mount, tail boom, tail belt and 50 gearing. The gearing set comes with the motor gear & main gear.

A blue head OS 50 will fit into a 30V2 frame all day long. You need the .50 mount (it is the same width) and gear sets.
I think it will require the .50 fan. I have always seen the larger clutch and bell used. I don't know for sure if you must use the larger fan/clutch/bell. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I have seen a 30V2 upgraded to a .50 with gears changed while the original boom and belt were kept. The same 550 blades were also used.
Sorry I don't know about the fan/clutch/bell.
Bird stays the same size but the motor is practically unboggable.

Sorry man,
I don't know anything about the V1.
I do. I have both a 50V1 and a 50V2 here in the shop and the part number for a V1 frame is PV0032 which is the same whether it is a 30 or a 50 engine. The only difference as so many have pointed out is gearing, tail boom, belt, struts and engine mount. A quick visit to Ron Lunds website will go a long way in understanding the differences.

ok let me get this straight>>>>>>>> from looking at the rap frame numbers the V1 is different than the V2 thierfore a 50 size motor will not fit in the V1 frame,if that's right then problem solved

You can upgrade the V1 frame with the right motor mount, gearing, tail boom, belt, and struts.

No, that is not right. A V1 30 & 50 are the same frame. Cutch and bell are also the same fan is different. Get the 50 fan and motor mount and it will all make sense. I've owned a V1 a V2 and a Titan. This will work once you have the right part. The box I sent you will get you started with the gears. You need the fan and motor mount now

A 30/50V1 frame will accommodate either a 30 or a 50 size engine. A 30/50V2 frame will accommodate either a 30 or a 50 size engine.

Look in my gallery and you will find both a 50V1 and a 50V2 pictured.

its about time someone posted some pix, one picture worth 1000 words, one more thing then case closed, I see on yours and mine the OS50 hits the side frame, I know most heat comes from the muf
but have you ever had any side frame damage from the head rubbing on the frame?
