Hi all

I have been using the Futaba GV1 governor on my gassers for quite some time now with no issues. However, it is not available any more. Are there any cheaper alternatives? I tried the Revlock 10 and it didn't work properly (engine was surging). Does the Revlock 20 work?

You could check with CSM. IIRC the only difference between RL10 and the RL20 is the firmware. I thought I remember Colin mentioning he could update the firmware on the RL10 to an RL20. It might be worthwhile to check with him on this.

The GY-701 is significantly more expensive than the GV1 and I already have some spare GY-611's so I can't justify the extra cost.

The Revlock 20 can be connected to a pc port and the user can adjust all parameters. The Revlock 10 can't. There is a Revlock 20 version for the Stator Gator so it should work on gassers. I just can't find any info from end users.

If I find a new GV1 somewhere I will buy it just because I know it works well but if I find a cheaper one that also works I will go for that.

Hi Harris,

Try and look for a GV1 on http://www.Ebay.de (Germany)
Many Germans will answer you in English and you may find your Governor there.

The 701 on/off feature though is only available through sbus. So if you don't have a Futaba TX/RX the only other option is the sbus converter which adds even more to the effective cost.

I use the stock GV1 sensor mounted to the engine case aimed to the flywheel and get more than 80% from the sensor.
To get this sensor most reliable, it has to be epoxied to its bracket.

Beware, I am willing to bet this is HHI close out stock. Irwin WAS not a good person to do business with.

Jon appears to be selling every thing off, he was better to deal with.

According to what I read on the other site, Irwin recently passed away due to complications from a knee replacement.

Thanks folks for all the info! That's what makes this forum invaluable!

I forgot to add that I am not interested in 3D, just scale. Does the Align regulator work well in slow revving helis?

Still looking for information on RL20. How about ATG and Throttle Jockey Pro? Anyone used them?
