I am going to be sending my YS 60SR off to Magnum for their Centerglide Bushing install. Buzz is asking that I send the case and crank only so I need to disassembly the engine.

I have rebuilt multiple "standard" 2-stroke engines but this is the first YS 2-stroke. The "standard" 2-strokes have taken me all of about 10 minutes to take apart under normal circumstances as I have not had anything frozen up.

Is there anything that I need to consider or take extra care of in taking apart my YS? Any special tools?

Thanks,

Lars

Be careful not to lose the really tiny o-ring when you remove the carb. Other than that it pretty much like any other engine.

Sorry to hijack the post but what is the benefit of this centerglide bearing mod? I have a YS60 also and I may think about doing it also...

Thank you

Marco

Use the one for the YS 60 runs smooth and has good power, saves you the extra cost when you upgrade to the YS60 motor

Hi Lars,

The guys at my club use the muffler from the YS60SR on their YS56 and find it has more power than the muffler made for the YS56 and it runs smoother. The plus side is that if you upgrade from the 56 to the 60 you already have a muffler.

OK, you changed gears on us there... this thread was discussing any particular issues/concerns/tools needing consideration when disassembling a YS60SR.

Your original post seemed to be comparing two engines, but as you had it written, both were YS60's!. It also wasn't clear you were talking about mufflers but now I understand. As it turns out, I have a muffler for my YS60SR so I am set.

Thanks,

Lars
