My 11X which has been very reliable just took a dump. Came back from flying, plugged it in for a charge and the LCD starts flashing like it was trying to turn on. No light on the supplied charger. So I hooked it up to the Hyperion charger and I get a "Output too high" message. I tried turning it on and nothing. The battery is fine, the radio will not turn on.

Anyone else had this issue?

Is there some sort of reset inside the radio that I can activate?

I'm sending it to HH but I hate the down time. I wish I had kept my backup radio. I just had my new 800 dialed in and wanted to fly it this whole week. Oh well.

Does not sound good.

There is a fuse and it is not uncommon for the 11x to blow it when first plugging in a charger, worth a check. Pull the back panel and you will see it. If it is blown, Radio Shack carries them, I use the slow blow ones, they work much better.

That was it Tom, the fuse is blown. I'm hoping that's the only problem, I may be flying later today.

How do I keep the fuse from blowing in the future?

Right on, I'll tape a couple inside the transmitter.

If you have a discharged battery and you plug in the charger, then at some point soon after connecting the charger you turn on the radio, you can blow the fuse.

That's why I keep a couple of fuses spare - you can buy them at Radio Shack.

Glad to hear it was a simple fix. The slow blow ones help a lot, mine almost never blows a fuse now. Some chargers seem more prone to it too.

My 11x took a dump also so I dumped it by throwing it across my yard. It's still sitting there so next time I take my tractor out I can have the joy of running it over also.

The 11X has been the worst radio I have ever owned now I'm looking at a Futaba 14SG.

The only problem I've had with the 11X was the fuse thing. It's been working great other than that.

Well Paul I had no more love left for that radio, It felt great throwing across the yard. My wife thought it was funny and my kids seen my radio sitting in the dirt a few days later and came in and said " Mom I thought dad's heli could only crash not his radio when did the radio crash"
