Lately i been feeling victimized .... One is in my previous thread

https://rc.runryder.com/t744618p1/

This started the previous night when I PM a guy who wanted to trade a RC car for a heli in the classifies after the guy with the heli post he wasn't looking for a trades. I have something comparable or better..... Besides I thought having a RC car would be cool to have in between flights.... At the field there are 10' embankments and jumps for some off road action!
We will call him, "Mr T (for Trader)".... Mr T PM back and we got the ball rolling. Told me he had other offers in the works and first to come up with something would get the trade...I was cool with that. so we proceeded to talk on the phone since that would get things moving faster. I stated I have various parts (this was a Trex 500) and could build him a FB version with 70% new parts I had. I could use all Align, but if he was ok with clone parts....I would use the clone parts and make him a crash kit (so it would offset the cost and make it comparable to an all Align Trex 500). Told him it will take me 2 wks to build, gave him a choice of new canopies to choose from. Almost like building a custom heli for this trade. I asked to PM his e mail so I could send him pix of different canopies...nothing, so I uploaded the photos on my gallery, just for his viewing. I never used the gallery...but took the time just for him. I try to always following and leave a guy hanging....especially in a trade, they make me nervous! Trying to create some credibility. Already I'm seeing some signs.
So towards the end of the conversion....told me he had an estates sales in the morning. The owner was into rc heli for 17 yrs. so obviously he's got a collection....I kinda knew where this was going after that statement. Wish I was told from the get go .... Than I would've postponed the 1+ hr discussion till after the estates sales.
So in the morning ... I got an e mail stating how he made out with all these heli for x dollars and by the way... I'll be keep the RC car because I gotz me boat load of heli. But can I keep your number and if you can build me a Logo heli. I had mentioned to him about Mikado and raved how great they are. By the way, this guy works at a hobby shop and build heli and wants to open a shop of his own on day. I run my own buisness and more than happy to be an embassador to the rc heli world and for anyone wanting to open their own business.

Down to the point:
I was pretty disappointed, felt left out in the cold. If he didn't get the estate sale...than maybe follow through. If he had trade with someone else, I would be ok with it. I felt he wasn't up front and working all kinds of angles.
I'm a pretty busy guy, for our trade....I would have to build the heli. Which I don't mind b/c I do enjoy building ( there r those of you that can relate ). So now he saved me some trouble...but when I initiated the trade, I found out the rc car uses nicad! You can buy it at Pep Boys! Kinda going down hill but still ....I said I wanted to trade despite I didn't my research first...my fault, i get excited at times and forget those details. I always keep my word and up front about everything.

So I told him just what I felt above and to decline adding me to his contacts. I had given him lots of tips and advises on helicopters. proving to be of use...I've always try to be of help and useful. He responded by saying I was just piecing together a helicopter for an almost brand new rc car, and if I'm soooooOOOOOooo busy....and he spared me a lot of work....why am I so "bent over" ...his words. That he wasn't born yesterday or last night.
Honestly ....everyone always has to have some self interest....but i really enjoy the hobby and willing to help any fellow rc enthusiasts. I use to gamble big time and couldn't stop for 8 years till I got into rc heli. I know how great and powerful it is. RC Heli truly gave me happiness, calm and peace.
I really want to setup a really nice Trex 500 FB for him....but now he's saying I'm just out for myself. I do admit RC car is boring (compared to heli) .....but why not something different for really nothing out of pocket and just time?!?! I did tell him i understand now he has all this heli....he won't need mines. If he did want to go through the trade...I would say it would pointless. He did get a Trex 500 ready to fly in the estates sales. but sometimes its about acccountability and sometimes whe running a business.... It's about what right for the gander and not goose. Guess its just how he went about doing it is what bothers me.

But in all fairness....he did apologize and I told him I accepted it. I don't care about an RC car. I did ended up getting a Tamiya Clodbuster while researching about his item. I didn't get the Clodbuster at first b/c I thought me and him had a deal.

Am I over reacting or is it valid? Its not like I lost any sleep over it....

And here's the kicker....he told me he was gonna keep it but instead I just notice him initiating another trade. Hhmmmmmmmm?!?!
Is that considered lying? 48 hrs ago he wanted to keep it and now it's up for trade again?

...If I were you, I would not do ANY business with this guy, EVER...very wishy washy and obviously can't be honest and a poor communicator. Sounds like he was trying to hustle you out of a great heli for a cheapo kid car. You got lucky that he stalled and eventually gave up and offered an apology...

usually when a trade goes bad, it goes realy bad and someone gets screwed out of alot of $$$.

Next time, I would advise before making any trades, buys or sells that you do some backgound checking first (unless you know the guy and know where he lives...but even then its always a risk).
Ask others if they know him, have done business with and how that turned out.

you got lucky.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

Be thankful and move on.

Every investment of time or people doesn't prove profitable. Investments are gambles. This time you only lost a few hours.

It could have been worse. Count your blessings. Kick the dust off your shoes.

Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.

+1

At least you found out before the trade was done. I am glad you enjoy the hobby and are willing to help others out.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to leave your response. My whole description is like "War & Peace"....For a moment I thought it be a 180 and I might be the bad guy. He frequents the classifies on RR and might stumble on this thread (hopefully realizes his actions). I would like to PM anyone that he initiates (that I happen to come across....not that I spend my time spying on the dude.)I don't like to step on my body's toes but on the same token don't want anyone's toes to be stepped on either...... Hopefully the universe will right itself up.
