Hurrah for the British parliament!
Jim Fitzpatrick has quit the Labour front bench as shadow Transport spokesman after opposing Ed Miliband's policy.
Fitzpatrick quit after telling the Commons he was "opposed to military intervention in Syria, full stop".

Sir Richard Shepherd (Con) says he cannot support the Government motion because it says Assad did the gas attack. There is no proof of that, he says. There has been no due process. He describes himself as a "victim of past judgements and dossiers". Britain has little understanding of Syria, a former french colony.

Sir Edward Leigh is up. "I think this has been a great two days for Parliament. I think we've won... We made clear we were not prepared to vote for any motion that would have justified war." He says he will "never" vote for war with Syria and he doubts such a vote will take place.
"We were lied to in Parliament and we are not going to go down that route again." He adds: "Our job in this Parliament is to look after our own people."

Diane Abbott is up. "It seems tonight Parliament has stepped back from the brink," she says. On war in the Middle East: "The British public has seen that movie and they know how it ends." She says she would have voted against any strike without UNSC backing, whatever the consequences (as a front bencher she may well have had to resign).

Britain sold nerve gas chemicals to Syria 10 months after war began.
BRITAIN allowed firms to sell chemicals to Syria capable of being used to make nerve gas, the Sunday Mail can reveal today.

Export licences for potassium fluoride and sodium fluoride were granted months after the bloody civil war in the Middle East began.

The chemical is capable of being used to make weapons such as sarin, thought to be the nerve gas used in the attack on a rebel-held Damascus suburb which killed nearly 1500 people, including 426 children, 10 days ago.

No one is innocent when it comes to Chemical weapons, agent orange, blue, napalm. It is all disgusting but many still profit from its sale.If it is sold by the west with the full knowledge that it ends up in unstable countries there is a problem.Should be a war on its sale to anyone.
