How do you get the link off the Ball from the swash to Blade grip?
a normal set of ball link plyers bit the swash when trying to pop the DFC link off the ball on a DFC head. Without damage to the plastic link or stressing the flat arm going to the blade grip

HOW do you do it

That's a good question. I'd like to hear how others do it. What I do is I have two sets of ball link pliers. Not the Align ones their too big. And I get behind both at the same time and the swash plate rotates out if the way when they come off.Gravity's a bitch ant it?

It's a pain. Best way I've found is to unscrew the ball link from the swash.

I bought a cheap pair of ball link pliers and ground (shortened) the fingers down enough to get behind link. Works on all my DFC heads 450, 500,600, and 700Citizen 76

I just unscrew them also.. But a Align purpose built ball tool should be produced.. (Read as a "Hint" Align)

the link cant just pop off the ball its held in place by the arm that bolts to the grip arm the only way to remove the link from the ball is to unbolt the link arm then use a ball driver to remove the link from the swash ball

I would just spend the extra time to remove the nut on the swash to blade grip. Than pull DFC arm down and away from swash and it'll pop off. That few extra second will result in a clean virgin ball link.
Or
Get a plastic ball link plier from EBay ... Works great for 500 and smaller heli's.

^^I've read that thread and wonder how the ball could come off. (Not saying it didn't), but if you think about it, the blade grips are driving the swash plate clockwise forcing them on all the time. Maybe a sudden stop of the blades and the swash would tend have clockwise momentum?? idk just concerns me...
