the stupid thing about this hobby is you need to know how to set-up a heli, but then you also need to know how to fly to do a proper set-up.

spending time, paying attention

I am beginning to like nitro as much as electric, I was weaned on electric, now I have a few nitros that seem to be running fine and I'm getting a little more comfortable with them. They are not as powerful as electric, But they will teach me better collective management, you can't power thru mistakes with nitro like you can with electric.
I think I will probably always have both.
this is me too.
i started with a NX4 and now have a TSA 700N with a OS 105. huge learning curve for me. going from a 1 needle motor to a 3 was a bit confusing. i dont know what im listening for yet. i watched smack talk and tim jones video. i did the best i could do. i had a guy at my field help me finish tuning it. he did a good job with it. gave it back to me and it was a different heli for sure. but we did it together so i learned a little. im about to buy a TSA 600N and going to use a YS 60SR. so i have some more learning to do soon.

I agree 100/100 with BobOD, Nitro/Fuel helis are here to stay, coming from 100 percent high powered electrics, Tim Jones Style, nitro is awesome, that smoke, that sound, OMG that consistent power 8 min flight time.

ICUR1-2 you nailed it there! Quite the Catch 22 especially for those of us who are self- taught. lol

I do hope nitro stays as I am building a TREX 600N DFC right now. After flying a 450 & 500 electric heli I am getting a little bit bored with electric.

Because of the extended flight time of nitro. I have gone from barely being able to hover nose in in January, to doing big autos and learning inverted backward flight right now.

I know electric guys that can do piro flips, mobius..........

Can barelly pull off a nice aleron roll, some times. Lol. Don't even ask them to see an auto.

But hay who cares. It's a hobby. It's fun for those who enjoy it.

WE SHOULD ALL BE OUT GETTING MORE STICK TIME!

I think some of the problem too is the death of the LHS. Ours is on life support after the death of the owner (not sure if his wife is going to keep it open). Having nitro shipped gets expensive.
I just got an NX4 that I haven't flown yet and if my LHS goes down, I may not keep it. Bummer, cuz I'm an old skool nitro guy......
Might end up having to finish my gasser to get my IC fix....

You're gonna love that NX4!
Maidened mine last night and put 3 flights on it today.
I'm hooked. Now to start collecting spares. This one is too much fun so I know I will need crash parts soon! It's a sweet little Nitro Gnat!

Quite right too. I'm sure all the Greenies are worrying about nitro at the minute as we all are. I have a feeling though to be fair that electric has way more of a carbon footprint than nitro does.

Smoking good videos, the low light performance of that camera is sterling. After that I never want to watch a YT vid again.
