yeah i see alot of people like that. think they need to have all that fancy stuff like 2.4 ghz, fbl, and lipos in everything they own. i still use nicads, nmih, and 72 mhz. my favrite heli that i own is a raptor 50. i do have a trexx 500 with a fly bar. i would rather fly my raptor 50 any day. and i have no desire to get a new heli. the ones i have fly just fine.

there is one good thing about people wanting all the lastest and greatest, i can now buy 72 mhz stuff on ebay for really cheap
Yep, good deals on 72mhz. I still fly with one. I have old Futaba 8U and I love that radio. Programming was a curve to learn and still don't know it all. But that radio is solid, built like a tank. And the signal is powerfull. I use it to fly planes, and gliders sometimes. And trust it over my Spektrum any day. Since I fly pretty much alone out in the country. I'm not worried about someone being on my ch's. Their is other flying fields around but most of them are at least 8 miles away. Since I only have two channels I doubt I'll ever be crossed. As a side not this radio has bling, it's bad ass.

don't forget
yesterdays latest bling/must have/ i need it/ you should sell that old one for one of these helis
makes a bargin a couple of years later once they've moved on to the all new latest bling

and to the op
there is nothing wrong with a hirobo they will out last many of the current crop of heli's
and a flybar
they use an electronic one
i can see if my flybar isn't right (as i've bent it in a ding)
but you can't see if the magic box is damaged

i still fly my shuttle and mk1 sceadu
