Sorry Stan,

It was the chickens fault.

It's Christmas time at "The Thumps" house.

I hope you have a big bench because that think will take up a lot of room.

"Windy and Snowy and Rain OH MY" has been the norm this weekend so going nowhere fast on the blow hole. I have to cockpit doors cut out and rough fit so may work on getting the hinges and latches placed and installed but we will see.

No Problem!!!
Just figured you were both into the same "Christmas Cheer"
Sitting here watching the weather and just heard Albany got a fresh blanket of powder overnight, which would have meant about 6+ inches where our house was, and then your post about the lovely weekend conditions at your place, and I am debating on if I should wear a jacket to the field or not!!!
Think I am getting used to these tough choices!!!
Build is looking great, and am sure when you do get to maiden, it is going to be just fine!!

I hate you. My 500MD TD is ready to fly (old body) and it is bitterly cold.

UIH,

OH SNAP!!!

I would not wish that on any one, but good point.

Looking at 3 to 5 inches of snow tomorrow but on the bright side, it is supposed to be 50 on Saturday. Maybe I can get in a hover or two.

Well, I always look to the positive side. If we have an earth quake, then the hot weather girls boobs will jiggle. In my book that's a win win situation...

UIH,

Got some cockpit doors. Still need to install the handle on the pilot door.

Hoping for first hover this weekend. Weather will dictate.

Nice fit on the doors Butch. What's the hole at the top aft corner?

Good luck on the test hover this weekend. I hope the weather cooperates.

UIH,

That hole is for the magnet. I tape the door in place and blast a hole, the diameter of the magnet, through the door and the door jam so they are perfectly aligned and bond the magnets in the hole. The door jam and flange on these doors have more than enough room to do this however some doors may not.

I will come back and fill the hole and when the jam and inside of the doors are painted you will never see the magnets.

UIH,

SPRING TIME!!!

Dang, It's still cold and there is still some snow around.

DANG!!! You woke me from a sound sleep, Bad Kitty, BAD KITTY.

LOL Dat funny.

Haven't done a lot. Got the cockpit doors all fit and have been working the sliding doors and a few other little scale detail goodies here and there.

Joe told me several years ago to build light. I look for things or places to reduce a little weight here, a little there, like using micro light ply with lightening holes and epoxy as sparingly as possible. It all adds up in the end.

The wood support that hold the dummy exhaust are 3.5mm. I took a piece of glass cut from the slider door hole and made a new support for the dummy exhaust. It all add up.

Maybe some day soon we will get a nice day to get a maiden in.

B

UIH,

Its cold and snowing. I was wondering what a MD900 would look like upside down.

I had to glue the slider rails on and to flip the thing over and let it rest on the head worked pretty good for access to the bottom slider rails.

Then came the fun job, drilling and installing windshield screws. One more chin window to go.

Nice work. I only wished I had the number on yours to do on mine, lol. The chin window took 34 screws all on its own. My aching eyeballs....so I know how you feel.
