UIH,

Been working on getting this thing painted. I made a impromptu spray booth for priming out in the drive way and it worked out really well.

I used the Klass Kote epoxy primer which goes down real nice and sands like a dream. Its very similar to the Old School K&B primer for way back when.

The plan is to have this thing all sanded in the next couple of days and ready for the Matterhorn White base hopefully by next weekend. That will depend on booth availability.

The paint colors will be from Analar Corp AS365. The scheme will be adjusted to fit the MD900 unique shape of the tail boom and stabs but you get the idea.

Some temporary spray booth pics and the fuse.

UIH,

Butch

Spoke to my friend about use of his booth. Next weekend looks good at this point. Get some white on dat MoFo.

A little something for everyones listening pleasure

UIH,

I was thinking out loud this evening. The voices in my head... Focus, Focus...

"Blowhole" will have a paint scheme like the AS350 of Analar Corp. The AS fuse is quite different so the scheme can be, what ever we like, but will use the same colors. I slapped some tape to get some quick thoughts for possible schemes.

A couple different stripe lay outs and some old school flames for fun. Ya know I could go "Crazy" with a "True Flame" in blue and silver on White.

Its about all sanded and almost ready for paint.

UIH,

B

Looks as if you are at the hard part!!!
Always tough to choose just the right scheme... but no doubt it will be a great looking heli once you settle on the design...
I like the 4th pic and the flames are really out there, but very cool!!!

UIH,

Its time to get off my lazy a$$ and get some white on this thing. Hitting the booth this morning. Will bring home tomorrow and start working on the strips and layout in a couple of days. Will be mostly white. Will have blue and silver strip. Not really replicating a full scale more in the sport corporate scale look.

UIH,

It is white.

Came out really nice. I used Klass Kote white. Its a nice brite white very close to the standard Matterhorn White, the standard white in the aircraft industry.

Will get it home tomorrow and will think about strip lay out.

Some pics.

Thank's Mang,

The booth is at International Jet interiors. I have helped them with drawings for S-76 interiors and some weight kits for ferry. I was over there having some work done on our heli and asked if I could use it and Jay said "anytime its not in use its yours".

Schweeeeeeet.

Yes I will take you up on that.

UIH,

Some rough schnizzle.

The strip color will be Indigo Blue Metallic and Silver. Top of dog house blue, small white separation, then a sliver strip. Strip on top of body silver then small white separation then blue below. Same on verticals.

N# would be Blue with a silver shadow. The N# slant is not correct for the RH side but this gives the idea.

This is always the hard part, choosing the scheme.

UIH,

B
