Half way through building my E700. Going really well so far. Only real issue I found is that there is very little length of thread for the aileron bellcrank retaining screws and I managed to strip the thread for the 2.5mm retaining bolt with very little torque. Not a biggie as it's very easy to re-tap for a 3mm bolt.

I also had no slack in the upper mainshaft bearing block

Elevator pushrod length
Ok guys I figured it out. The elevator bell crank is not symmetrical. The manual isn't perfectly clear either.

I had it flipped, thus, needing a shorter rod. I flipped it, and problem solved.

Glad you found that. Since there's a reduction in movement due to the ratio of the servo arm length and the bellcrank, the bellcrank balls aren't straight-across with the bearing center. He designed all the "offset" into the bellcranks, thus allowing straight servo arms yet no differential movement. I never thought about you having the bellcrank on backwards. That's something to mentally file away so I'm not left scratching my head for hours when pushrods don't fit . I seem to remember doing something on an E720 a while back, probably the same thing, but hard to remember that far back at this age.<G>
