Can any one tell me what the difference is between selecting Governor verses Governor 2 mode, at the function level?

I was originally under the impression that Governor was for Futaba stuff, and Governor 2 was for non-Futaba stuff. But, I have since proved myself wrong.

So what in what situation would you go to the function menu and select Governor 2?

Love the radio, hate the Manual!

You use one for governor on/off and the other for governor speed selection.

You would use a switch or stick position to turn your gov on or off. And use idle ups for speed selection.

I have my gov set up to turn on at 40% and I use idle ups to control the head speed.

Ok, let's start over.

In the function menu you can select the channel to use governor or governor 2. Once selected you can not simply flip a switch between the two modes. You have to go into the function menu, not something you do while flying.

Yes, I currently have three speeds, and the governor turns off when I select Idle up. How to configure the throttle governor is not the question.

The question is, what does the governor 2 function bring to the table that the governor function does not or visa versa?

If governor on/off is handled by a switch and you want speed selection, two discreet channels are required. Futaba calls those two channels in the function menu governor and governor 2. They are not two different modes. All they are is two channels to control governor on/off and speed selection. How those two channels behave when activated is a function (no pun) of how they are mapped to a given switch or configured within the transmitter's governor menu.

I think I am less confused
So when you assign gov 2 to a channel all it does is acts as a switch, either on or off?

And the channel that gov is assigned to actually performs the governor function.

I got it, thanks.

Futaba really needs to write an in depth manual in English. The way it is written, now. I get the impression it is translated.

I'm just wondering when you would use it. I can turn the governor off with the gov function, so why use gov 2?
