8J is a great radio. Low cost receivers and it gets the job done.

I also would vote for the 8J. You also might try to find a good used 8FG. With the 14 SG out there may be some good deals on one. I have the 8FG Super and it is a great radio. Although I haven't flown an 8J I have helped program them and I had no issues. Good luck. Chuck

I agree with cwright, about getting a used 8FG. The thing I don't like about the 7C is that their are no graphs on screen.

If your just looking between the 7C and the 8J, I would go for the 8J.

You get one more channel and lots more features.
