Been flying in a Goblin 700 since release, so just over 12 months.
Scorpion 4525 520 LE Torx HV servo's running at 5.8v on the BEC
Mode 4 + KSA

Fairly hard sports flying with no hard 3D and it's just died completely and put the heli in... Luckily It was fitted with a Cricket monitor (used to fly on separate 7.4 rx batt) with the capacitors. Managed to get it levelled out before it died completely, still $450 damage so not HP...

Would have been airborn for less than 20 secs before shutdown so not hot. Unit is completely dead now, no LED's sounds or other signs of life. Why would it do this?

Have another in a 700DFC running a 750MX. That's lost drive a couple of times for a few secs but thankfully not shut down. Beginning to loose a bit of faith here...

Sorry to hear about your crash!
How many flights do you have on it? Has it ever been in a crash? Did you buy it used? No telling what went wrong, but if you send it back to Kontroniks they "Might" be able to help you!

Bought brand new, never crashed and I'd say about 100 flights.

Going to swap over to a Pyro matched with the 120 power jive from the 700DFC. Researching the 750MX/Jive power down thing, there seems to be a few compatibility problems, looks like I'm not the only one.
Believe a Cremations 120 works fine with the 750MX, time to go shopping ;-)

Had a helijive give up the ghost on the same motor after running just fine. Replaced esc with the same but now use a KDE xf700-495 motor. So far so good.

Also had a 4525-520 LE motor take out a scorpion ESC. Replaced ESC with the OPTO version of the same and replaced motor with a 4525-520 Ultimate. Which is a "Y" wound motor as well as is the KDE. So far both systems have been fine.

Seems the "Y" wound motors play nicer with the 120 130 amp range ESC.

I think the 160 amp ESC's would be better suited for delta winding.

Just my opinion.

For the Scorpion 4525LE motor, you need to run the Jive in KSA mode in order to prevent a commutation failure (which is what kills the Jive).

Mine was in KSA mode. Guess it was just its time. But the LE (Delta wind) motor seems to be hard on ESC's.

@ mrloudly
As Wrongler said Contact Kontronik and send them the ESC they may be able to help.

Well just to update.
Today was flying the whiplash 700 after a mild crash. Mostly tail boom and torque tube. Heli went in under throttle hold.

Bench tested and spun up heli after repairs before heading to field. Spool up heli fly some light circuits give it a mild climb out then full collective climb out. ESC shut off, auto down no damage, no led flashing on esc. ESC is dead no response at all.

Going to give a Jeti Mezon 130 12S Brushless ESC w/Telemetry & RPM a try.

Helijive will take a trip back to Germany.

Never do on anything 600 and up.

Nice soft auto saving a brand new set of cyclone blades and a newly rebuilt tail assembly.

Going to add the little Scorpion backups to my fleet. Covers the ESC /BEC failure thing in the future

To be fair, I have six Kontronik ESC's and it's the first one that's let me down in 5 years. Won't happen again though ;-)

Scorpion backups are great, Just would like to know when they are taking over in the air! Maybe some type of alarm.
