What kind of flying time are you guys getting mine is a fuel hog pig hover for 5 min and it sucks down about a half of a tank of fuel just doesn't seem right I have a 231 in mine with a brand new WT660 carb. And it seems to be bogging with -10+10

Can't speak on the G30 but while breaking in my rebuilt engine on the G20 I didn't have much time when it was rich and now that I have leaned it and it is broken in I find that I have probably 8 minutes more. 12 during break-in and 20 now.

All of that said, 10 total minutes might not be that bad if your breaking it in.

well, my stroked engine is 22.5 cc, and running at just under 13,000rpm...a full tank will go for 14 minutes if I push it on Idle up for the whole flight... but your 231 should not be bogging with just 10 degrees pitch...my modded G20 holds at 11.5 degrees easy with 640 mains and 14T pinion, (600s I can push to 12.5 degrees before I notice the engine loading a bit too much).

your tuning might need work and setup has alot to do with everything from bogging to fuel consumption...how is she set up?

on another note, Hi Greg!

well I got another problem. in a hover while trying to tune the motor set the heli down to set the carb some more and the tail shaft broke in half that sucks and before that the shaft in the clutch fell down in the motor and had to pull the motor and in that process had to cut some of the cheap screws out of the frame.

I am thinking that the Radikal is a big piece junk oh well it is what it is time to move on to another.

good lord man...you have some issues with that heli.

well if you feel that way, I can't blame you. Ive had my fair share of crap breaking on my G20...and it usually happens in mid air. But I figure, fix, mod, and try again...I can't afford another heli, too much into this one...its sort of a love hate relationship...when its working, its flies great, lots of power and speed...but crap happens with little warning sometimes.

...so the G30 is a slightly bigger piece of crap compared to the G20...well duh! the G30 is bigger you know.

anyway, you need to check the fit of the Torque tube shaft inside the boom....mine on my G20 was in there way too tight, I could tell when i spun the rotor, I could actually feel the crown gears meshing (every tooth) both front AND back. Plus I could feel a tight spot...solution was to deepen the holes in which the end couplings of the torque tube shafts sit inside of and to dremel the little pegs(on the end coupling) a itsy bit shorter so that they too easily slide into the drive holes of the crown gears.

the whole thing should spin very freely and not be notchy...when you sit it on the bench, spin the main rotor by hand, the whole thing should spin easily and slow down til it finally stops on its own.

If you allow the TT to run tight, you will get some nasty vibs that will even mess with the gyro.

...So your refering to the driven tail rotor shaft with the pulley on it? If so how in the world do you break one of those sitting on the ground?
