Friends,
Does Anyone with a Samsung Galaxy S3 have issues with MicroSD cards burning up with the dreaded (Blank SD Card) message? I have been thru 2 SD cards (Sandisk 16gb/Samsung 64gb) and both have died. From what I read, its the phone. Lmk if you have had a similar experience.
Thanks!

I've had the SIM card not found error, but so far my SD card is hanging in there. They sent me a new SIM card and that problem has not reoccurred (yet). Going to follow this one.......

Good luck.

There, their and they're. It's really that simple.

My droid x just burned mine up. First time in three years. Have you tried any recovery software on your sd cards? Google "recover files from corrupted sd card". Mine is completely toasted. It won't even recognize its size.

Same here, I can't recover anything. I really don't mind the data loss, I have it backed up. I just bought the 64gb on Thurs and it burned up in 2 days. $50 down the drain. Wtf.

Did anyone actually bother to read the stuff in the two links posted? SanDisk says a small percentage of their SD cards are defective.

Mine wasn't defective. It worked for three years. It just got fried.

Mine cooked my SD card as well. Lost a couple hundred photos. Verizon said "oh well". But they did give me a new one. Lets see how that works.

everyone here who has had the issue - were these the SanDisk brand? Where they the 32gb or 64gb models referenced above? Some of the respondants said they experienced the same failure with other brands and sizes also.

Not to say that the issue affecting SanDisk would be just limited to that brand because I'm sure that a manufacture of these storage devices sells them to more than one OEM. If it truely was an issue with manufacturing then it'd be hard to say what brands would be affected because the top name brands would have to admit that the lower priced brands are the same product - minus the QA and warranty.

So here is the real question - what model/brand/size cards are people using that don't have the problems? Could we use one of the super high speed models such as the SanDisk Extreme line and have a better chance of them not failing? not sure if they manufacture the cards with those specs in the microSD format.

Mine was a 16GB Sandisk Micro SD card.

I ordered a 32G Sandisk to replace it.

Someone mentioned that drop box auto uploads? Can that be done on wifi only? I'm thinking of programing a "Tasker" profile to do some automatic backing up for me. I didn't lose a lot but I did lose a few videos and pictures that I can't get back like one of my 5yo learning to ride a bike without training wheels! Or another video of my 2.5yo learning to drive the power wheels!

I'm kicking myself too because I plugged my phone in two weeks ago to put an ebook on it and my desktop warned me that there was something wrong with the file system on the SD card and I ignored it at the time.
