Hi,

I have a 3GX deep inside a scale body. I can't get to it at all unless I spend 2 hours pulling the airframe out of the body.

Can I buy an extension lead that I can leave in the 3GX, so I can adjust the settings easily by removing the cockpit as normal for battery changing?

I was told I could leave the standard lead and USB dongle plugged into it, and then just use a USB cable to the PC. Is this right, can I leave the 'box' leads in it??

Thanks.

Hard To Believe!!
Cannot believe you are not getting any type of reply to your question...
I would be glad to help you out, but I have only flown one 3G when it first came out and it was set up by the owner of the heli...
There has got to be someone on one of these sites that are using the 3GX!!!!

Good Luck, Stan

Can I just cut and extend the wires? I've got a bit of Futaba servo wire that would be perfect?

Can I leave the USB dongle on in the hell?

Don't know of an extension that is sold online.

Maybe just cut the existing interface cable and solder more wire in. Not pretty but effective.

I've cut the wire and used Futaba servo wire. All I need to know now is can I fly with the USB dongle still attached to the 3GX?

I wouldn't recommend flying with it in, I would think the gyro would see it as some sort of vibration and may cause the gryo to go wacky. JMO

Thats a good question, not sure.

My suggestion would be to initialize it on the bench, with the dongle plugged in, and see what happens.

I've cut the data cable and made it 6" longer with servo wire. I made a 'hook' to hold the longer wire into place and I now don't need to have the dongle fixed all the time.

So problem solved by not doing it !

Thanks.
