Spent the last few days home building and setting up my new Whiplash. Hanson 270 3dMax, new 14SGH, Bavarian Demon 3SX. Stayed up late last night and started early this morning to get it done prior to having to go back to work.

Got all loaded up, and while filling the gas can at a station down the street from my flying field it started pouring rain.

Damn it. Hopefully tomorrow I can get some time on it, I have to go back to work on Saturday. Wanted to have a nice picture of it at the field, but this is the best I can do with this stupid weather.

Yes, that's a Rave canopy, once again MA has come out with a canopy with colors that I am essentially blind to in the air. That Rave canopy has been on 4 helis so far, it's unbelievably easy to see in the sky.

There are options

Both of these are from Fusano. The first one ia off the shelf at dealers like helidirect, the 2nd one I contacted Fusano direct and had them custom make it for me.

Either way you can get something else besides the stock canopy if you wish. I managed 1 flight with mine today before the rain started, but there may be a lull soon I *might* go out again not sure as I have to head to the post office to mail a package to a fellow...

Yeah, I've seen the Fusuno. I may have them paint me a custom one at some point, but the reality is I like the shape of the Rave one better, and if I kill this one I've got 3 other custom painted 90 size canopies here that I like better and can see better than the stock canopy.

I looked at the radar, it does look like you have hope of getting out again today, but that same band will be with me for a while. Hopefully tomorrow.

I would say you should have stayed in Iowa so I could see it fly but we've had quite a few rainy days this year. Today was nice but looks like rain is coming. Good luck with the whippy gasser.

Thanks, there are definitely times I wish that I'd stayed. The EPJ field looks amazing, they put in 2 more runways, and of course I miss flying with my friends out there. Here I am pretty much solo. Take care.

I did it
The hole in the clouds that you saw worked out well Had to go to a different field in the "south" compared to my normal field which is about 9 miles north of the south field.

Timed it right and managed to get two tanks through the whiplash for a total of 3 today

We're back to the rain now...

You're lucky. I kept watching the radar and when it became apparent that hope was lost for today I got the generator wired up. Everything is done now and ready to go for some (hopefully) rain free flights tomorrow. Ideally I'll spend a few hours solo breaking it in tomorrow.

We gotta take care of that! NH is not that far from MA, I'll have to get together with you to get some flights in for sure

If you can make it please come to Crow Island next weekend. And the weekend after its NH flying Tigers field on Sunday I believe for helis.

Then after that Surrey, NH. So that's 3 events I'll be at in your neck of the woods

I'll try to make it out to some, my schedule isn't the most cooperative when it comes to weekends since my airline got bought out and merged. I lost a lot of seniority, and with it, my weekends. I'll definitely be flying something on those dates, sadly odds are it'll be a big aluminum tube.

OK well
If you want to get together on your days off mid week, just let me know I manage my own schedule and we can hook up, good news is that it doesn't have to be on weekends.
