I just received my Jeti DS-16 today and all I can say is WOW!!! I first saw it at the Toledo Weak Signal show but didn't get a chance to really look at it nor ask many questions. Last year the DC-16 was at the Toledo show and I stopped by the booth just long enough to check out the Jeti stick assembly which at the time I thought it was the best I've ever seen or felt. Then this year the DS-16 was there which is more designed for the "thumb" flier which I am. I spent a little more time this year looking at it but really didn't seriously consider it because I'm a JR/Spektrum user and have been for the last 25 years. And with a price tag of $1500 along with the fact that I would have to change out all my receivers, I didn't give it much thought. I had just purchased a Spektrum DX18 and a JR 12x not too long before the show so this was another reason not to look that close at it. But after getting back from the show I started to research the Jeti transmitters and the more I saw and read, the more I had to get one. So I sold my DX18 and decided to slowly phase out my Spektrum receivers. And after spending just a few hours with the DS-16, I have no regrets. The look, quality, and feel of it is the best I've ever seen...not to even mention all the software features...and my friend has a Futaba 18mz which I thought was the best out there until now. All I say if you are thinking about getting one....DO IT!

By the way, again, I'm a "thumb" flier and I have small hands and the DS-16 fits me perfectly...and I love the fact that you can rotate the stick assemblies to fit your hands even better!!!

Based on reports in some of the other forums Jeti will support V-Bar UDI standard for single line communication from the RX to the FBL controller. Nice.

That means that the Jeti will now work with the V-Bar and the Ikon through the UDI single wire interface.

18mz vs DS-16
Hello all,
Futaba 18mz owner. I have to say after spending $3000 for a top of the line radio I'm disappointed in Futaba for not having a better telemetry package. Why shouldn't I sell my 18mz and spend half the money for a Jeti? Looking for input from owners of the DS-16 radio. Thanks

I've been a Futaba die hard for over 28 years and I'm considering the DS-16.

Just hold one!
flyboynellor, all you have to do is hold one and move the sticks...that's all it will take. Then after you've owned it for a day or two, you'll wonder why you payed $3000 for such a small color screen when you could have gotten a 48" color screen at Walmart for $548.99!!!

I totally agree. Only problem is I would have to convert all my heli and airplanes (10 models) to Jeti. All my heli's use a 2 and three channel S-bus receiver into Vbar FBL unit. Does Jeti offer one? Thanks

Yea I thought the same thing....and I have about 35 planes and heli's to convert. But you don't have to convert all at one time and you probably wouldn't want to do that anyhow because of the time that would be involved let alone the expense. But, I do know that the Jeti receivers are cheaper then the Futaba receivers so you can sell your Futaba receivers to cover the cost of the Jeti receivers.

I started out with the DS-16 and just two receivers so I could setup a few choppers and get use to the DS-16 programming.

And yes, Jeti does have "S-bus" type receivers. Check with the people

Jeti Rx
Ok boys, you've now touched a topic I was wondering about for ever since I saw the DS16 Tx. Single line or Sbus type connection to supporting FBL units, can the Jeti Rxs do this now? This is the only thing stopping me pursuing the switch over to this system.

Yes, as I stated in my previous posting some of the Jeti receivers can do single line....such as the R5l. Mark

Just seen this (DS12), is it an earlier prototype or is this another super Jeti to look out for

I believe the DS-12 is a new-model that's going to be released in 2014

I did have a newsletter from Esprit with the info last week but I may have already sent it to the trash-bin

Looks like another Awesome system from Jeti !!

WOOPEEE! that's the one for me then, definitely don't need 16chn, that also means some of the price should be shaved off. It even looks like the screen can be angled to suit the user.

That photo is an old conceptual rendering. The new system is the DS-14. It uses the same case design as the current DS-16 and will be available in early 2014. Price will be $1090

If you want to get rid of the T18 sent it to me,
I use it as a B transmitter.

That's not accurate. There are multiple places to buy Jeti equipment (Transmitters, receivers, ESC, etc) from in the US. I've bought them from both Helidirect and Circle City Helis. Bought the DS16 itself and a bunch of receivers from Lou at Circle City Helis and got great service and even used a coupon code for a discount.
