I have come across a nice Freya I'm considering buying but want to get opinions on what it's worth? I know the owner and its history - it has only a handfull of delicate flights with ZERO crashes. Has an OS91HZ (black head) AR7000 RX and a Gyro (don't know specs of gyro). As with all helis, parts availability is important - availability is becoming thin for the Freya. I have a number in my head as to what I think it's worth but opinions or comments are appreciated. I'm new to heli game and have only owned new Aligns so far. I know there's really no comparison but was drawn to the nastalic aspect of the Freya and the fact it's huge!

he means $300.

Rule of thumb on many 80's 90's vintage machines is average 1/4 of new in box, half of that if used somewhat, $100 or less for parts condition, used, crashed, missing and or broken parts COMPLETE, ebay $50 if that for basket case buyer beware.

have fun

If it's a true Freya 90 Evo it's worth between 300 to 375 depending on condition, upgrades and accessories. Add the HZ and $500 is not crazy, especially if you know the history and how it has been treated as you say in this case you do.

I agree with the $500 estimate. I bought two last year. Both for $500 and both were RTF with nice YS91SR motors. I'm also worried about parts though.

I've had no trouble getting parts from Ron Lund. I don't think the Freya's are something you want to be 3d'ing and constantly planting. They're more of a precision machine.

For what it's worth I just picked up one for 150.00$ and it is in excellent condition. Just airframe.

There is no such thing as up, it's all out...

That's a good buy. I wouldn't mind getting a spare airframe. Both of mine came with SWM conversion, so I would want my spare to have the SWM setup also.

Which Freya? the plain basic one, X-Spec or 90 EVO?

For the plain, maybe $150 to 200, newer EVO or the X-Spec $300, more if they have the upgraded blue autorotation hub. That is chasis only.

Ron Lund at Heliproz South still carries lots of parts.

Thanks for all the feedback. As for the Ebay links, those have not sold yet and I will be surprised if they bring $600 -$900. A better representation would be of the completed auctions.

There is one listed on RCUniverse for $350 USD. The price has been reduced from the original asking price. I offered the seller $350 when it was first posted but he refused and came back with a counter offer of $500 dollars. Now the price has been lowered again at its' true market value.

trappq,

I don't think the poster was judging the value of the ebay auctions, he was just showing you that as an alternative to what you are looking at, you could be looking at them at higher prices. I think we are all saing that you should grab this Freya if you are thinking about getting one. You know the history of the one that started this thread and you say it's never been crashed. Offer $300-$350 for the airframe or $500 for the airframe/engine and get on with it.

Fly big, fly smooth and save a bunch
It was major heli in its day and still no slouch.
Great for windy days and autos like a feather, and does great straight down autos. Quality heli, fun big machine. Lots of parts around.

got my Freya Evo for $523. It came with Black Shark II fuselage, OS70, SWM, other small upgrades and no electronics. This was just January of this year.

then recently I got my Freya EX-II for roughly the same price with 91SZ, Funtech pipe, Futaba S9255 servos and GY611 + S9256
