Nigel, You need to re read the post's, I never advised anybody to shoot Gas into the front of their turbine
This was something Matt put into the post, and happened a long time ago

I just saw this Thread on kero start vs propane start, interesting begining, I'm laughing my arse off at the end, some things never change, you guys are funny, I'd LOVE to see you guys all together at the field, I'd even pay to watch LOL

MW54 Kero Start
Anyone have any experience of the Kero start retrofit kit for the Wren 54?
I am considering a conversion.

You have to check which version of the 54 you have, as older versions( pre 2010) you have to remove the glow plug and look inside with a torch to see if the vapouriser tube within the combustion chamber passes near it.
If so you have to bend it out of the way carefully by a few MM.As the pilot flame needs that clearance to enter the chamber.

The ECU will also need upgrading to the new Xicoy one, which has the facility to switch between gas and kero ( the older one doesn't)
