Carey is Thunder Tiger keeping the 720 Raptor in production along with the new 700 Raptor?

From another thread/post it was made out that Thunder Tiger was discontinuing the 720 for the new 700 Raptor.

Just want clarification on this topic.

Interested in the new E700 Raptor myself

Watch at YouTube

Cheers,
Raven

from Marco Rebelo TT pilot

"No, thunder tiger are not dropping their 90 Nitro. They are out of stock at the moment but are in the process of producing another batch to meet the current market demands.
There are some slight changes being made to the G4 so the modified kits will then be on the market. Maybe that is why they are saying the G4 is being discontinued, the new one may be called something else. The changers are not drastic and parts for the current G4 will still be available."

my understanding is as already stated, they're working on an updated version that includes some minor options to make it more 1.05/1.20 friendly.

Meaning it isn't going anywhere, just getting better. Its really a VERY nice model, its a typical Taya design with high quality parts and nice flying qualities.

I sent an email to Thunder Tiger directly...This is what I was told;
To whom it may concern;

It has come to my attention that your TT G4 FBL Nito heli is being discontinued. According to Tower Hobbies, there stock status states discontinued. Further postings have mentioned different statements from the support people at Tower Hobbies.

Are you discontinuing the Raptor G4 Nitro?

Thanks,

Ray

Ray,

Thanks for contacting Air Support. Thunder Tiger did discontinue the G4 FBL Nitro. The flybarred version is still available, but we are expecting new releases from Thunder Tiger later this year.

Best regards,

Maybe they [Thunder Tiger] are working on an updated version!

Well, this really sucks. I finally get the build complete and find out they are discontinuing the model. Yes, it is true. I called TT America today and they confirmed that the Nitro FBL is DISCONTINUED. I was going to get second machine to have as a backup. Crap.

Also annoying is the absolute void of info positive or negative regarding an FBL upgrade option for the venerable Raptor 60/90.

Come on Thunder Tiger. Tell us something so I can wait or move on.
I feel that dedicated Thunder Tiger customers like me deserve just a little better in the info department.

I am not an electric helicopter pilot. I have no beefs with electric, but it looks like all recent innovation and development is kowtowing to the electric market.

Raptor 90 conversion

if you get the G-Force headblock/follower, ALL of the rest of the G4 head parts will fit. Unless you tear up the headblock, all the other parts are just off the shelf TT.

I didn't say that was a cheap way to do it though

G4 has a 15mm main shaft, R60-90 is 12mm. But, hopefully the E700 FBL will work because that main shaft is 12mm.

TT got it right with ALL versions of the G4. I don't understand their reasoning for discontinuing any version. Now they have the E700 and 800 or whatever it is . That's fine for the 3D folks, but what about sport and F3C types...not to mention NITRO FOLKS!!!
